Top bit of kit!
IF IN DOUBT - READ THISSo we panic buyer this bag due to a weekend getaway with a 5 year old and a 6 month old, realising we wouldn't fit all the gear in the car that we'd need and this was on next day delivery.#1 ease of use - great. I set up the bag by myself. I laid the mat down and got it central then placed the bag on top. Standing on the shelf of my car meant I could reach everyday of the top. I started placing hard gear at the front to give it structure. Travel cot right at the front with small cases either side to leave a gap central. In a kind of horseshoe shape. This gave the bag structure when zipped.#2 fitting - no problem. We do have rails for roof bars but it is solid (no gaps) so we have to use the supplied hooks to insert beneath the door seals. This does make it a little tricker that attaching it straight to the rails but we don't have bars and is literally the reason we bought the bag as it is more cost effective. I ensured the seals were pushed as firmly as possible back over the hooks and we had no issues. When connecting the bag straps, tightening was a little tricky (but not enough to put you off).#3 waterproof- absolutely but READ!! The instructions aren't great. But reading issues with water, I wanted to do some research and read some instructions for similar bags on the market. The bag has zips on three sides. MAKE SURE THE END OF THE BAG WITH NO ZIP IS FACING THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR. When driving the waterproof flap that surrounds the zip can flap up. To be honest, this is going to happen when travelling at speed. So if you have a zip facing the front, it is going to let water in.We had no rain on the outward journey but we did on return so I was looking forward to seeing how it held up. Not a drop of water on anything.#4 noise - there is some. It's a bag with straps, this cannot be avoided however, it was not too loud ay all. In fact not noticeable under around 55mph. But there are things you can do to reduce the noise at higher speeds. Number 1, make sure fastenings are as tight as possible and secure al loose ribbon from the fittings. Secondly, I used a ratchet strap. Firstly to secure the waterproof flap around the bag (there is a good velcro fastening around it but I just thought thus would help. Secondly it also secured the fastenings around the bag better.ProsCheaper than a full roof box system.Easier to store than a roof box (a major plus for us) it just fits in small provided bag)Lighter to set up (even empty roof boxes are heavy and awkward to place)Good storage (we got the latter size)All required material provided (we used our own ratchet strap)ConsSome noise (but not excessive in my opinion) bixes may be quite.Instructions aren't the clearest hence why I had to do some extra research.Conclusion.A solid luggage option that I would recommend. We have only used it once but we travelled for 5 hours in total. I set it up by myself. My wife gave me a hand taking it off at home but it is a 1 person job in my opinion.

Great value
Travelled 150 miles on the first trip and held up great, nice and secure. Loads of room for bags, and even a baby bassinet. Very easy to set up too took around 10/15 mins to get it on, packed and secured.

Good value
Perfect for a few extra kit bags and suitcases on the roof. Easy to fit. Handled the rain well. Zipper could be better.

great alternative without roof bars
i needed an alternative to roof bars to take our family on holiday in our Ford Fiesta. this bag was perfect for the added storage for our travels.easy to install with plenty of straps and hooks to hold it securely on the roof.i do recommend buying the none slip mat not only to prevent the bag slipping but to protect you roof form scratching.the bag is super water proof and the material covering the zip prevents the interior of the bag getting wet.theres a long list of stuff i managed to fit in the bag that i couldn't fit in the car . so plenty of extra space in the car making it a more comfortable long drive for us and the kids.i recommend this bag if you dont want to spend the big £ on roof bars or a roof box.it comes with a storage bag when your not using it.overall great value , great bag

Great Price ,does exactly what it's supsed to do
I have purchased a few of these Iver the years ,some good some bad. This one is really good , easy to put on roof, also co.es with a anti slipmat .this one does not need cables to go though car like some other ones I have had in past.with caused leakage in car etc . This one has little hooks that go under door car rubber ,and have a loop on other side to attach to car bag. So no straps inside, and most importantly no rain in car! And alot more safer if got other passengers in car! .Used on motorway at moto speeds,in dry and rain and had no issues,or leakage. The only minor issue and it's very minor. is just a recommendation to who make it. The stats need velcro on them to keep them tidy from flapping.I tied them to prevent this but nit a tidy. Also works on cars that have roof rails going length of car as loops can attach to them to .Other than the minor issue i stated above .this is a great product for the price and would higly recommend this product. Sorry I haven't got photo of product on car , review was done after we came back from camping.

Waste of money.
Used today to drive to Cornwall, fitted correctly with storm flap down correctly using Velcro.Zips at the side (away from front), arrived to all my clothes and other belongings being soaked, waste of money. There doesn’t seem to be a return or refund option available.

Sits on the roof of the car
Doesn't sit on top of the roof bars like advertised. No solid base so has to sit on the roof of the car. Other than that, it's a good quality product and very spacious inside.
