It DOES work on lirhium batteries
Did not know that I needed a different charger when I switched to the lithium battery. When I pulled it from my bike this past Winter, I had it on the standard trickle charger as I always did my previous ones. Excited as always to go for that first ride when the there's a really nice day, I dropped the battery back in the bike. She started ok, went for a nice little ride, and that was that. Parked and couldn't wait for another tease of nice weather. Got it sooner than expected and couldn't get on the bike fast enough! Um.....nothing. No turnover, no lights, just silence. Wtf did i do? Is something loose? Did something else drain the battery? Took my bike apart, checked everything while putting the battery back on the regular charger (which after just a short time showed fully charged). Tried again, still no start, nada, nothing... Well, bummer. I'm thinking I killed a new battery and have my bike parts all over the driveway, too, now.If you can't figure it out and are too stubborn to go to a mechanic like me (because, ladies, you KNOW they try to take advantage of us), you call your riding kids/brothers or go to the School of YouTube. Wow, really? Yeah, now I DO feel stupid....a battery tender made for lithium batteries because regular chargers don't have enough voltage. With this battery charger, you CAN do both! It will charge your regular battery but ups the voltage for your lithium batteries! Win Win!Go ride that vehicle!

Good stuff
Have 4 of them; no issues. Cars don’t get started for 6 months given the climate change that keeps it cold here all the time. Keeps the batteries perfect. Even used the car batteries to run my battery back up sump when the power goes out due to climate change and we get rain once every 3 months due to climate change. Good product though

Keeps battery charged
Works great for keeping my motorcycle battery charged when sitting for a while.

Better than I first thought
I returned the first one of these I bought because I thought it was defective. But the issue was not the device, it was the "instructions." I've put those in quotes because the sheet whcih comes with the charger are not really instructions, and that is part of the reason for the less than fives star rating. While the sheet contains safety information, features, and charts there is really nothing whih explains how to use it. And while, after literally decaudes aroundc cars and motorcycles I thought I know how to handle what were always pretty simple devices, one which handles dual types of batteries as this one does is not that clear cut.The issue is how to access its two different charging technologies...one for lead acid batteries and the other for lithium-specifically lithium iron phosphate, or LiFePO4. And the first step is to be sure your lithium battery is indeed this type. I don't know if the charger will work on other lithium batteries but give the potential danger of improper charging of lihium units I would not suggest trying. And that is what caused me to return the first charger, thinking it was defective when I connected it and the lead acid LED lit up. What I did not realize is that the charger does not automatically detect the battery type (and I don't know if any do) and that you ahve to manually switch it. But I also would not have known how to do that had I not just read comments in questions from other buyers. I did see the little circle wih "Mode" written on it. I did not realize it was a small, domed pushbutton. Nor would I have knowne that you have to press this for the mode you want if the device is not already on that mode, prior to connecting it to the battery. And of course you can only do this by first plugging it into line power and before connecting a lead to a battery. And if you are going to later switch to another battery you need to remove it from the current battery and the line power and allow all LEDs to go out before doing the switch. Once I read these comments and went through this process the correct LED lit and it appears to be working just fine.I wish there were real instructions with the unit to describe that. Would have saved me, Amazon, and the manufacturer wasted effort. As far as the apparent wuality and equipment with the unit it is appears to be a match for more expensive units. It has "SAE" leads and two different cords to clip into the charger. One ends in alligaator clips for general use, and the other ends in connectors which allow permanent mounting to a battery so you easily connect to a unit permenanetly installed in a vehicle. The leads on both cords as well as the power cord itself are of significant length to be convenient. While I cannot yet comment on how well the charging or maintenance functions operate I have no reason to believe that they will work just fine. All in all, after a bit of frustration and delay which are not faults of the device but only the paperwork, I think this is a good buy and unit.

Great
I own four of these for lead acid battery’s. They are great. Good bang for buck. They really shine when you use them for small 22 amp hour or less battery’s. You can use them for a charger for smaller battery’s. They allow you to get maximum life out of your battery’s.

Don't expect a replacement when you order one and you will be charged TWICE without warning!
Works great! I have both kinds of batteries and Amazon didn't send me a replacement for my Lithium one that came not working and won't hold a charge, then they DOUBLE charged me for it! .. so boo on them for that then when I called they outsourced my complaint to some 3rd world country.. very crappy this was the worst experience I had with them so far.. at least THIS works!

Great little trickle charger with more than usual features
This is a great value. It charges either lead-acid or Lithium batteries properly, and it has both large clips and bolt attachments depending on whether you want to use it on one or more batteries. I hooked it up to my motorcycle's sealed lead-acid battery, it read it as partially charged, and as fully charged overnight. With the plug accessible from outside the battery compartment I can use it any time easily. LONG cord to the charger too. No bigger than any other trickle charger. It's just ideal.
