Humminbird 410950-1NAV HELIX 7 CHIRP MSI (MEGA Side Imaging) GPS G3 NAV Fish Finder

The Helix 7 arrived very quickly, 3 days, even though the projection was about two weeks. So far, the unit came in perfect condition and exactly the way I wanted it. I have not had it out on the water yet but will update if anything changes. READ THE DESCRIPTION YOU ARE BUYING VERY CAREFULLY TO GET WHAT YOU WANT or learn the return policy. This seller has a very detailed and strict return policy that could cost you money just to return the item.Some issues with the installation, my fault not Humminbird, if you do not follow the instructions: 1. Make sure you have enough cable to move head. The keeper on the power cord will not go through the drilled hole and you will have to redo power connection. This is my second Helix 7 install and I still had to redo the power cord. 2. The unit does not come with a trolling motor adapter. Humminbird used to have special combos that came with a trolling motor transducer instead of the high speed one. They may still, but I did not take the time to look. If you have an old trolling motor adapter, mine is 20 yrs old, the new transducer will not fit. The new one is 1/4 inch too wide. I split mine in half to finish the connection and will probably buy a new one in the near future. 3. This unit does not come with a head cover. 4. The Navionics card is a micro SD card in a mini SD card adapter. I was a little upset until I figured that out since the Helix 7 head will only accept the micro SD card.If you have never used one of these type units...be very careful if you are going out in very low light conditions. The brightness will blind you if you do not turn it down. Overall the unit itself is amazing. The only drawback is you will have to spend some time learning the operation. The unit will do many things but only if you know how to get there. I am still amazed the detail in the cartography. All the way down to small creeks. Now, if they could only design one to tell which fish will bite.

My HELIX 7 was easy to install. It work very will. The side finger is very good, the color is very sharp. It does everything but make the fish bite. Will I have to some of the work.

I'm new to boats especially depth finders and just recently got back into fishing after 2 decades plus so this is a light year jump. When I bought something I wanted to make sure it was what I wanted. You can't go wrong. It's a lot to learn and take in but do the research and homework as I did and this is what I picked and I'm really glad I went with this model. At first I didn't open up the advanced mode, it was amazing enough without but after that even though the options were nice enough it got even 10 times better. You will be learning with this thing for a long time but it's well worth the money the images are really quite unreal I'd recommend this to anyone novice or expert.

I had done a lot of research before I purchased this fish finder. I was replacing my piece of junk Lowrance unit. The Mega Side Imaging is pretty good. I was surprise to see my local lake is pretty much flat with not much structure at all. This would explain why it is hard to find bass on it. It was easy to install but you do have to purchase a fuse and extra wire to run it to your battery. I'm not sure why Humminbird doesn't provide this with the unit. They provide the wire gauge and fuse rating needed in the manual so they know it is needed for most set ups. Anyway the menu is easy to follow and you can google the best set up for your type of fishing. The reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5 is because the unit doesn't display depth when the boat is traveling at a fast speed. This is not a problem if you know the lake you are fishing. It could be an issue if you are entering a shallow area at a high speed.

The best Humminbird deal you're going to find for the price. I mostly use the sonar and map view for trolling stripers in 100 feet of water or less. The side imaging is pretty great too, down imaging is great but often times I see fish on the sonar that I don't see on the down imaging. Occasionally its the other way around too. The side imaging will tell you some good information in combination with the sonar (chirp). You can tell which side of the boat the fish are on when you see them on sonar. The maps included are a great deal. I almost went for the pilot link and that whole setup which this does not support. For what I'm doing on a budget I'm glad I went this route.

I used this for the first time two days ago and I think it's great. The side imaging lets me find stuff on my home lake that I had no idea was there. Love the GPS and the Mega side and down imaging. I'm sure bigger is better but this is a great fish finder for my 16 1/2' bass boat. For the first side imaging I have ever owned I'm very happy with it! It has that wow factor for sure!

The 7 only has one SD slot, I wish I had got the 9 inch unit.It needs a fairly big battery to run for an entire day . I can get only 3 or 4 hours out of a 7.5 amp hour battery with the unit on full brightness on a Sunny Day. Upgrading to an 18 amp hour battery.

So I wasn't planning on spending as much as I did on this model but im glad I did. Still learning how to use it as it has quite a few options. Also it came with a $200 Navionics card which it awesome! If you have the money to spend this is a great option.

Arrived earlier than expected...just in time for our annual fishing trip.
