Honeywell Ademco IPCAM-WO Outdoor IP Camera

I now have three of these cameras. They are designed to work with Honeywell security systems. I also have two Honeywell Tuxedo Touch touchscreen keypads and can view the cameras directly on the screen. The cameras are all connected to my network router via Cat5 cable. I have one at my front door, one at my back door and one at my basement stairs. You will need a power outlet to connect power to the camera. If needed, you can augment the power adapter with power wiring to increase your mounting distance up to over 175 feet. I have not had any loss of connection issues at all after a couple of months of use. The cameras also performed well in heavy rain/wind and one is not under any additional weather protection.

A must if you using the Honeywell Tuxedo. Picture quality is acceptable and camera itself is very durable. The only problem is if you use WIFI and change your router settings, camera configuration must be reestablished through a wired connection again.

I have three of these cameras which worked well at the beginning. After a few months the cameras began dropping their connection to my router which meant either asking my installer to come out and reboot them or reconfigure them. Each time they got up and running they only operated for a few days then dropped off again. Very expensive for something so unreliable. Also very hard to adjust the sensitivity - you either get too many videos of non-events or you miss something you should have received.11/16/15 update: At this time only two of the three cameras are working but even more distressing they are not operable on a computer running Apple's latest operating system. They only work via an iPhone, iPad or a pc running Quicktime, not an iMac running Quicktime with the newest operating system. We contacted Honeywell regarding this issue and they said that they would only talk to the dealer who installed the camera, we could not talk to their technical support. Our dealer has said that this is not a high priority problem for him right now. I would not recommend purchasing these cameras or subscribing to the Total Connect service so that you can view these remotely in the unlikely event they are all operating.

The reviews on this device are not lying. It will not stay connected to wifi. You will have to reset it at least twice a month. I own their indoor WI2 variety and it's a mystery why this product isn't nearly as reliable. I suggest going with another outdoor cam, even an enclosed dropcam. It's not worth buying even if it's compatible with total connect.This one is a waste of money, wish I had heeded the warnings myself.

Camera is great. HOWEVER BUYER BEWARE! When you purchase this camera on Amazon or EBay ten times out of ten it is already registered by the original owner/purchaser, legitimately with Total Connect 2.0, the monitoring service. They can only be purchased and installed legitimately by a registered Dealer! such as ADT. The six digit MAC Number on the back of the camera is called in to the monitoring service, which is used to identify and legitimize the original owner.
