This miter saw is absolutely perfect. It reminds me of a tool that my grandfather would own (solid and built to last forever). A bit pricier than others but well worth it. I don’t see this thing ever wearing out. The saw is a couple feet long and the blade is about 2 inches wide so it cuts through the wood nice and straight. The base is made of thick pot metal (not plastic like others). Might have been better had it been made of steel but since it won't flex, and the saw blade never touches the base, it really doesn't matter. I've owned several miter saws over the years and all started out cutting fairly well but inevitably the grooves widen thus causing the cut angles to change. There are no grooves to wear out that could change the angles. I'm in the process of replacing all the baseboards in my house. The cuts I'm making match up perfectly (both vertically and horizontally) in all corners.I was not compensated in any way to write this review. I buy oodles of stuff from Amazon but rarely write a review. I am VERY impressed with this saw...well worth the price .

I assembled this, slowly, while flipping burgers and it was easy enough to figure out with the limited directions. It is quite a contraption! It feels solid and I rushed to try it out with a 90-degree cut on an oak 1x2 - it went well, was not perfect. I am going to accept the lack of perfection as user error and try it again when I have time to clamp this down, clamp the board to the stand, make sure the first cut is precise, and then see how it goes. It is a cool device and I am happy with the fit and quality (even though I wish all the plastic parts were metal) and think it will last for years.I'll update here as I figure it out and get close and close to perfect miters on my creations.
