BOSU is the BEST! Such a versatile thing, for Core, Balance, Abs, Booty, Heart
The first one I ordered didn’t hold air. It was flat by morning, every time we re-inflated it. Amazon was great about the return. I debated whether to order a replacement or get a refund, worried that the new design was faulty. I went with a replacement and am GLAD I did! The new one arrived 2 days after the old one was returned and we’ve had it a week with no re-inflation required.PROS - The ridges make this stable to stand on.I’ve been collecting YOUTUBE videos for BOSU workouts. Originally, we bought this for balance as we are getting up there in years and have no interest in going to rehab with a broken anything. Balance does decline with age. It is GREAT for balance. You can create more challenge by flipping it upside down, for a rock-n-roll surface. pretty sure this won’t be happening here, as the dome top is challenging enough!I was surprised as the versatility of the BOSU. It is great for:1) Balance2). Ab work3). Leg work4) Booty5). Heart health/high intensity workoutMy personal favorites are PILATES with the BOSU. It is (almost) fun, or in the least, inspires me to do a great workout.Really, it combines the benefits of so many different pieces of equipment in one exercise piece. We used a bicycle tire inflator, as the thingy that came with was subpar. Also, the first time my husband tried to inflate, the mouth fell out loose and had to be retrieved with tweezers, but all is well. Just watch out for that.CONS - I have to put a blanket or towel over it when standing barefoot or putting my hands or body on it, because the ridges are hard and uncomfortable to bare skin or yoga pants. The towel solves the problemUse extreme caution when flipping upside down and trying to stand on it, as it is REALLY hard, and I am cautious about breaking bones from a fall. I used a long dowel to counter balance, but still found it too hard.I am super glad I purchased, and happy I went with the New Generation model, as it wasn’t much more than the older model and really is MUCH improved in durability and quality. Great home workout gadget.

Overall great product!
I recently expanded my home gym, and I am very happy that I added this Bosu balance trainer to my collection! I have always enjoyed using Bosu balance trainers at the gym, and it is just as enjoyable to use at home. It is very quick and easy to setup, and it is pretty easy to store to keep it out of the way. It provides for a very good variety of challenging exercises, and I have found it very useful to help stabilize and strengthen my muscles as I continue with physical therapy for my knee. The extra grip on the ball and the patterns splitting the ball into quarters was a really great addition, and it makes it a lot easier for me to make sure that I am using the correct portion of the ball during every exercise. For anybody looking to add some variety and challenge to their workouts, I would highly recommend this Bosu balance trainer!

BOSU Ball Is Very Versatile and Challenging!
I am glad that I decided to purchase the BOSU ball after careful research and a recommendation from a physical therapist. It’s possible to do almost any type of training with this ball. There are many YouTube videos for exercise ideas and BOSU has its own channel. One of the most important things to do when setting up and inflating the ball is to not inflate it higher than 8.5 inches. The packing box has a line on the side at the bottom that you can use by turning the ball flat side up and lining it up with that line to let you know you’re at the proper inflation. Over inflating it causes it to pop out of its frame and also defeats the purpose of getting maximum use of its potential. I am 70 years old and purchased this as a tool for improving and maintaining my balance to avoid the potential for falling as I grow older. It has helped tremendously with strengthening my lower body and core helping me to feel more stable. I recommend this as a perfect tool for function based exercises. I’m so glad I made the purchase (It didn’t hurt that the day I finally decided to buy it was $30 less than normal!).

Bosu Makes Every Exercise Better
Here’s a little story. My husband and I have a power tower, in which the bar lowers and raises. He lowers it to perform tricep dips, extending his feet out straight in front of him. I saw him doing this exercise. He was doing the dips pretty fast. I grabbed my new Pro NexGen Balance Trainer and placed it under the heels of his feet. (Flat side down, feet in the center of the rounded side.). He proceeded with his dips, and after just a couple more exclaimed, “Oh crap!”, and stopped doing the dips. He was surprised at how much more challenging adding the instability of the Bosu ball made the exercise. It isolated the triceps even more and engaged the core, among other muscles.Whether you’re doing Bosu specific exercises or adding it to other “regular” routines, Bosu amps up the workout. It triggers the muscles to work in different ways, amplifying the results. I loved using the Bosu ball at the gym and am totally excited to have my own at home. Especially since a lot of us are doing more home based workouts. I love the Pro NexGen, but if you want to save a little, go with the original Bosu. Better than not having one at all. I happen to like the textured surface on the Pro.It’s a sturdy piece of equipment. Definitely made for fitness centers. Not a watered down home version. I did not use the enclosed pump. I used a pump we have for a bike.Yes, this is my honest review. I actually love it that much. Why do ordinary exercises when you can do extraordinary exercises.

Poor pump . Does not inflate
For a 150 dollar product , the pump is so poor . I couldn’t inflate it . Just returned it . At least if they just had like a cycle valve , I could have used my cycle pump.

Easy setup, very useful
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas to supplement gym workouts at home. It was easy to pump up and came nicely/securely packaged. She was excited to open it and start using it after Christmas. It has helped (at the gym) with core strength and balance and stability; I see no reason the one we now have at home won’t be equally useful.
