Q: Can this canteen be attached to a mollie backpack ?

Yes, it can be attached to a Mollie pack because it's how I attach my spare canteen and E- Tool to my Mollie pack. It will be a little loose or you can fit it with Mollie adapters.

Q: Can you use the cup for heating up water, soup or any other type of food and if so should it be ok to use open fire or something like the esbit stove?

Esbit stove is better, I've used mine for heating up soup while hiking. The handle get very hot, very fast.

Q: why is there not a photo of the back of the cover showing the type of attaching device ????

it's a metal wire utility belt loop attachment, so it fits into eyelets. However, it's also sewn in such a way so a belt can be looped through if no eyelets are available.
