The wine glass is produced in Italy with patented optic ridges on the inside of each glass that “agitate” the wine when the glass is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, eliminating the need to decant the wine or wait for it to breathe, according to the company. The results are backed by scientific tests performed at the University of Rome in Italy, Global Amici said. Scientific Test Results Show The Following Benefits: • Enhancement of Flavor and Aromas • Up To 30% Decrease of Alcohol Absorption • Decrease of Sensorial Alcohol Influence During the Fermentation process there is a buildup of Carbon Dioxide in all wines. Carbon Dioxide causes an acceleration of alcohol absorption into the Blood Stream. As the stomach swells, alcohol is pushed into the blood vessels and then conveyed to the liver (see picture 2). Removal of Carbon Dioxide and oxygenating the wine causes alcohol to stay inside the stomach walls longer, which allows the digestive system more time process and break down the alcohol. While in stomach, gastric acids attack the alcohol in the wine, lowering the amount of ethanol that can penetrate into the blood stream. Using our Aerator Goblet, tests have proven that the difference of alcohol absorption in the human body is up to 30% lower than using a regular wine glass (see picture 3). Results may vary depending on each individual. With such a difference in the absorption of alcohol, multiple advantages are achieved.

The Swirl makes all the difference.
Have you ever opened a bottle of wine, taken a sip and thought - This is so bad, I am not sure I would even cook with it. Well, these aerating glasses will turn that bottle (okay, maybe not THAT bottle) into a perfectly drinkable one without having do any of the following:-Waiting an hour before pouring-Decanting the entire bottle, when you only want one glass-pouring through your separate aerator and possibly spilling someThese glasses are perfect for just a glass or two, but if you want the whole bottle who am I to judge? Go for it! These will take that bottle and make it taste just that much better. They are easy to use, just make sure that you swirl while they are on a flat surface vs. trying to swirl while holding. It works better and the wine doesn't slosh around as much. You swirl in the opposite direction of the grooves, so (if I remember correctly) counter clockwise. You will be amazed at the difference-Make sure that you try the wine before AND after you aerate it. You will not be disappointed.

Wasn't expecting them to be so big
Husband and I finally found a wine we like to drink, so to feel like adults, I went shopping for some wine glasses. These look cool and they aerate the wine or something, so I bought them. They are enormous. Like twice the size of any other wine glass I've seen. Take up tons of space in my cabinet. It doesn't matter whether they're dishwasher safe or not, because they're too tall to fit on the top rack of my dishwasher! I'm going to keep them because they do still look pretty cool, but I wish I'd known they were giant wine glasses before I ordered them.

As advertised
I was a doubter, but these glasses do everything that they promised to aerate your wine. Nice looking but a little heavy is the only reason that I did not give 5 stars. Then again I did buy 8 of them so the technology outweighed the weight

For my wife
These are great wine glasses. They get the job done by aerating the wine and are heavy duty as well. I saw that some reviewers gave these a lower rating because of that but that's just a preference thing. They can also hold quite a bit too.
