Nature's Way Works Swedish Bitters Traditional European Herbal Extract Used for Digestion, 33.8 fl. oz.

Our family was introduced to the wondrous world of bitters from a friend who happened to offer us some in a delicious libation last summer. We immediately ordered our own bottle and have re-ordered because we love the bitters! We received the brown glass bottle (with its charmingly illustrated label) in an equally beautiful box, but it's what's inside that really counts. A little goes a long way, making this worth it for the price. Bitters can be added to any variety of juices and cocktails. One of our favorite recipes calls for a cap full of bitters, a couple ounces of organic apple juice with a splash of pure cherry or cranberry juice and a squeeze of key lime. Serve over ice for a soothing, stimulating, and refreshing beverage! Because of the alcohol content (similar to tinctures), if you are sensitive to alcohol this product may not be for you. This product helps with digestion and gives us an overall feeling of well being.

I wish I had started using it earlier. Swedish Bitters is like a miracle! I have been suffering from severe back pain for about four months. I have seen three different doctors, and have been having physical therapy for two months. I had MRI for my neck and back but doctors told that there is nothing wrong with them. I did not have any injuries or else; the pain had emerged out of nowhere. I used different medication but none of them helped to ease the pain. I was not able to do my regular daily activities like carrying light grocery bags or standing up/sitting down for more than an hour. My dad strongly recommended this product and I started using it. I was not expecting to see any improvement but I just gave it a try. After using it for four days, 3/4 of my pain was gone. I started feeling much more better. I am now able to stand up/sit down for more than 3-4 hours. Now I have been using it for a week, so I am still going through the recovery process. The pain did not disappear, but there is great improvement. Despite the awful taste, I use it twice a day mixing it with orange juice. I strongly recommend it to everyone who is suffering from some kind of pain.

I grew up with this in our house. My mom used it for everything ( almost ). It's a powerful remedie and it's of high quality. You can drink some to prevent or get rid of a cold. You can put it on cotton in your ear for colds or ear ache. You can put it directly on the skin on burns, cuts, insect bites, pimples, skin irritations, eczema or other skin conditions. When I was younger i was in the kitchen and I accidentally knocked a pan full of hot oil on my hands, so my mom had my hands covered in cotton soaked in Swedish bitter wrapped in plastic bags to keep the moisture ( I could not use my hands ), after a week of this my hands came out almost all healed and I didn't have any scars. I can't think of all the ways we used it but get creative coz it works !! It's a really great product.

I am not sure how this is allowed to be sold without having to be 21. There is a lot of alcohol in it and the dose is like taking a shot at a bar. I don't drink so this was alarming to say the least. It does work for digestion but looking for an alcohol free alternative. There should be a warning or alcohol content listed.

I have been using Swedish Bitters for quite a few years now. I read a long time ago that we do not have enough bitter foods in our modern diet. They are necessary for proper gall balder and liver function. This formula has been proven to work and I trust it. At first when I tried it, the taste was awful to me. Now I am so used to it, I kind of like it lol. I don't use this everyday but I do it use several times a week and it is my go to medicine for any digestive upset I have. I think more people should check out Swedish Bitters and stop taking those proton pump inhibitors! This is an ancient formula that really works, not just one that makes money for big pharma. This bottle seems really large but it is a good value if you use it often.

Worked in a health food store owned by a naturopath. She told me about this product. Been using it for 40 years now. Just a wonderful, wonderful product. Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark out on their mission, but first had them visit an herbalist to get a health tonic. He knew what he was doing and that tonic was probably similar to Swedish Bitters. Probably the best single tonic for general health. Amazing for digestive issues and more...

Dislike: too small for the price

I am definitely surprised at how effective this is. I purchased this after a desperate search for some alternative medicine to help with psoriasis, and this was mentioned as part of a liver cleanse. It's far too early to tell if it is helping with my skin, but I am also lactose intolerant, and typically I consume ginger in tea every day to mitigate the sensitivity. Lately, however, that has been getting less effective, and symptoms have been getting worse, to the point I was about to go see a doctor to see if something else was wrong, as I was consuming almost no dairy. However, about a week after I started taking this daily, all symptoms are gone! I take about an 1/8th ounce twice daily. The taste is certainly not pleasant, but it's not as bad as I expected from some of the reviews. I will definitely be buying the larger bottle and adding it to my regular routine, now!

The real Maria Treben Small Swedish Bitter, plus some extra herbs. Very good stuff. German made. The real thing. Highly recommend. I wish Amazon would sell the Austrian Big Swedish Bitters, called Bittner Bitters. They are also excellent.

Can't travel without this. Excellent way to keep your guts happy and healthy and we all know how important that it. I once had food poisoning and thanks to this genius of a tonic - I recovered very quickly.
