Just spent 5 wks. in the UK with Adam's website on my tablet as I 'discovered' ancient standing stones, circles, just Out There. Some are a hike, others are literally over the fence on your way down a road. Wish I'd had his book before now.You learn to 'see' a different way, and the Ancients (and Adam) reward you with MANY 'Wows'. Touching. Feeling. Wondering. Imagining. Now I'm home, have his book in hands and realize I didn't even scratch the surface in my 5 wks. Planning the next trip now! Easy to use, chick full of info and pictures. SO MUCH EASIER than online ... WiFi is sketchy out in the field. Quality book. Buy with confidence.

This is a treasure trove of info for anyone who is interested in megalithic monuments. Detailed descriptions and excellent photos enhance the book. Whether you simply appreciate the esthetics of ancient stone circles, dolmens, etc. or have a more academic interest, you will find something of value in this book.It complements the detailed info at The Megalithic Portal online and it is very useful to have the data in hard copy.I will certainly rely on it for my next trip to the UK.Let's hope they will consider producing a similar volume covering other countries as well.

A beautifully designed, fairly comprehensive guide to the fantastic megalithic sites of the U.K. and Ireland. I wish there were more photographs and sometimes better photographs, but overall, this book rocks!

Amazing book, well researched and very comprehensive catalogue of Megalithic sites in Great Britain. Wish I'd had this when I lived there, didn't know how rich my Shire was in Megaliths and circles. I will have to try to get this book signed when I am next in UK.

This compilation of neolithic structures is the most comprehensive that I have seen. It is imminently readable and well worth the price.

Ein Must-have für Liebhaber megalitischer Anlagen. Das Buch beinhaltet Infos zu über 1000 Anlagen in Britannien und Irland, zu vielen Anlagen gibt es Fotos. Im Buch aufgeführte Koordinaten helfen, die Anlagen zu finden, falls man sie besuchen möchte.

A brilliant, and comprehensive book on pretty much every megalithic site in the UK. Most with photographs, all with descriptions and coordinates to help locate them, I found myself drooling over which site to visit next!

Je fais des recherches à titre privé sur les orientations cardinales et astronomiques des Megalithes. Cet ouvrage The Old Stones et une mine de renseignements et une introduction à leur site Internet encore plus complet. Un must pour ceux intéressés par la préhistoire. Magnifique ouvrage.

A very well put together book on standing stones in Britain and Ireland. Plenty of photographs and good information about each site, locations etc. Highly recommended.
