Why are these far thicker than store bought?

there is a 100 calorie version of the muscle milk that you may be referring to. It is much thinner than this one. This one is the original muscle milk, thicker, 160 calories, and it takes better than the thinner one (to me). The thinner one has an artificial taste to me. I like this one, the thicker one, better. I use it as creamer in my coffee or just drink it straight!
