Very comfortable, pretty warm, and a bit too bulky
I am a big fan of Outdoor Research products and so when deciding between these and The North Face gloves, OR won out based on my fondness for the brand. A few years ago, I had bought a pair of TNF e-tip gloves and found them to be too thin for morning walks with my dog and my hands were still cold. I was hoping a thicker glove could keep me warmer, while still being thin enough to open a bag and pickup my dog's business while out on our walks.First, the good: These gloves are very comfortable! The lining feels great as soon as you slip your hands in and the outer material feels soft but durable. The glove is plenty flexible and does not feel restrictive in any way.The okay: They are not as warm as I would have thought. They are only a tiny bit warmer than my old e-tip gloves and I can still feel the wind and cold air cut through them. They are fine when it's chilly outside but only okay if it dips below 45 degrees or so. It's better than going bare-handed, but not a hugely noticeable difference between my e-tips.The bad (for me): They are too bulky to accomplish my main goal of opening bags, scooping #2s, and tying off the bags when walking my dog without difficulty. This is not really the fault of the glove and I would guess that TNF mid-weight gloves would have the same problem. As such, I didn't penalize the glove much in my review and write this only as a heads up to others. The 1 star I took away is mostly a result of the poor ratio of added warmth to added bulk.

Work great if you keep your core warm
After having bad experiences with gloves not being warm enough I was skeptical about these. I was pleased to find that I can wear these down to 20F (-7C) when hiking and keeping food in my system.Do note that they only work that cold if you keep your core body temperature warm! Gloves do not generate heat - instead they trap heat produced by your body. If your body gets cold it prioritizes your core over your extremities. I believe that along with personal anatomy explains why people have such a wide range of experiences with winter clothing. Hence these gloves will not be as effective if you go a long time without eating, are not dressed properly, or are not active. In those situations just throw some mittens over them and you should be fine.

Not great for outdoor touchscreen use w/ screen protectors
Touch screen capability may be good if you rock a naked screen, but if you’re an Invisible Shield owner, these won’t generate the electrostatic charge necessary to activate the screen on a reliable basis. The gloves are so thick that they have to be warm (self-defeating) and you really need to bear down on the screen to a worrying degree to get them to work outside in the cold.

Good balance of warmth and usefulness
I am impressed with these gloves. They are very warm yet thin enough to be very useful. I can even type on my computer fairly well with these on, so I think they're a very good compromise between warmth and dexterity. They do run a little small, I usually wear medium or small sizes, my hand measurement lined up with medium so that's what I bought and they fit but are quite snug. I stuck with them and they worked well, the snugness didn't cause any issues in use. If you plan to layer these under another glove you probably want them fairly snug anyway. I used them in 5-20 deg. F and sometimes windy weather (wind chill temps were often 0 deg. F or lower). These gloves were enough with minimal to no wind and 15-20 deg. F but with 15mph+ wind or lower temps they weren't enough for me, so depending on what kind of weather you'll be in you might need another layer over these.

Nice pair of gloves for the warmer parts of the winter.
These gloves are good for the price. There is a fleece lining, making them much warmer than the Pl 150's, and not bulky where you have to take them off when you need to use your hands. I bought them to wear during the more mild winter temperatures in Chicago (as we have two phases of winter weather here....20-30's and -10 to 20's). They will keep your hands warm in temperatures down to 30 degrees for regular activities, like going for a walk or driving, but after that, you're going to want something thicker, especially if you are chipping two inches of ice off of your windshield every morning. They are medium-durable and I have no doubt that these will last one season, maybe two. The sticky stuff starts peeling off after a couple months of heavy use. Make sure you go up one size.

Oh god, those horrible TAGS!
I find that two of the selling points on these gloves are their weakest attributes: keeping your hands warm in the cold, and comfort. I have the second-thickest pair and my fingers still feel the chill whenever the mercury drops below 40. Above that, they’re warm enough. The comfort is my biggest beef. Why in god’s name does every glove manufacturer place a sharp-edged tag on the INSIDE of the glove, where it runs against and pokes your skin the entire time you’re wearing it? Please, glovemakers of the world (and while we’re at it, shirtmakers, too), I implore you: Think about the user experience when designing your product. Think about what the glove will actually feel like on a person’s hands before you go to manufacturing. Try them on yourself for a day and write down what feels uncomfortable. Then go back and adjust. Simple!Touchscreen works all right, though. And were it not for the prementioned tags, they are pretty comfy.

Best Standalone Liners Out There
As a hiker/backpacker I've worn a lot of liners and, for me, these are at the top of the heap. Easily the warmest and OR makes stuff that lasts. Like any glove like this, if you're using your hands a lot eventually they'll rip. But the great thing with these is that because there's two separate layers they'll continue to function. The only thing I'd say that might move someone to a thinner liner is they don't pair particularly well with cold weather gloves because of their thickness. But they work really well with mitts. OR nailed it with these.

Fits small & concern over rubber gripping
I have multiple pairs or OR research gloves that are all large. This pair in large would barely fit my hands - the XL was a good fit. They are a nice pair of gloves, but I can see how the rubber gripping will tear off, per other reviews. When driving, you can't loosen your grip and let the wheel slide through. It'll eventually wear them off. Overall, I do like the gloves.
