Some of my favorite
I had already seen these movies several times and absolutely LOVED them, but somehow didn't own either one. So I was really happy when I could buy the DVDs together for a good price and watch them again before seeing the third movie in the theater. These movies are some of my absolute favorites. The first one is so good and so satisfying, even though it is a little predictable considering the title. Hiccup is very lovable, brave, and funny, and you can't help but root for him every step of the way. (The actor who voices him is perfect!) Toothless is a fearsome dragon, but really just your typical house cat (ha!), and one of the best (if not THE best) cartoon animal characters I've ever seen. The group of kids in the movie have some great lines, and the viewer gets to watch them slowly go from competing against each other to working together in order to do good. The second movie is definitely NOT your typical "second movie." Instead of watching it and hoping it's almost as good as the first one but being extremely disappointed at how bad it is, you get to watch it, hoping it's almost as good as the first one, then find yourself watching the end credits and realizing the near impossible; it's just as awesome as the first one! There is just as much character development as the first movie, and the characters' relationships grow stronger throughout the movie. You are also introduced to a few new characters who somehow fit in seamlessly, as well as getting answers to some questions from the first movie that you didn't even know you had, because you were too distracted at how good the first movie was while you were watching it to be able to acknowledge any questions. ;)

Excellent
My son spoke of nothing else. We were so happy to find 1 & 2 together for a good price because we already had number 3. After reading reviews I was nervous, BUT it came brand new unopened . No damage to any of the discs or case. We have watched them 100x already. Pleased!
