A high quality mixer at a great price.
I like to cook and bake, and I don't have a lot of space. I needed a hand mixer that would be able to whip mashed potatoes and mix bread dough. So after carefully considering my options and reading a lot of reviews, I decided that this mixer was the right one, and I haven't been disappointed. The mixer has five speeds and a turbo button. It comes with standard beaters and it also comes with dough hooks. When it comes to mixing bread dough, this mixer is no slouch. It doesn't smoke, it doesn't break. It powers through even the most dense dough and never leaves me disappointed. I rarely bring it up above the '3' setting, but when I do, I'm always amazed with its top speed. My only criticism is that it's sometimes difficult to get this mixer to stand up and it's not as easy as it could be to manage the cord. These are really silly and minor criticisms. I love this mixer and I'm very happy with my purchase. I bought it over a year ago and it's still going strong. If you want a quality hand mixer at a great price, then this is the mixer for you.

Replacement for Boy's Mistake works well!
So, me, the boy, I found that -- like my buddy with the blender-mashed-potatoes tragedy, a hand-blender should not make fondant icing. Fondant comes out like dough, but it's really a temporary suspension of icing sugar with a tiny trace of oil. Think: stucco.Things things shall not be made with a hand-blender, lest the Holy Magic Smoke issue forth (celebrated by the smoke alarm -- hooray!)Although the fanfare of the smoke alarm typically celebrates when The Boy Cooks, this was one of those really bad "uh oh" times, when the boy knows well what he's done wrong. bad dog. Now, The Girl, she gets on well with the cheapest bread maker she can, thinking she'd run it into the ground, and the damned thing keeps ticking. ... so she's not one for price, but price-per-usage. Accountants are great that way. This hand-blender has no seams that suck to clean up (dough in that fashionable grill piece? ha!) -- you can even see that the bottom part is shaped like a boat or a riot cop's shield, and that's clearly by design. 240 Watts, that's 1/3 horsepower, I swear it's more than my dad's first lawnmower. It's light, works well, cleans well -- also better than the lawnmower. It doesn't sit so well on the base, but heck, that's a dripping recipe for clumsy boys and hospital trips anyways.Great price, cleans up well, it CAN work the fondant somewhat (but let's stick to the butter creme icing), and the girl has nearly forgiven the boy.Did you know that fire alarms in some buildings ring every floor? All 32 of them?

Apparently the Sunbeam was always a little fast anyway (explains why I could never use the thing without messing up the entire k
Gave as a gift to my mother after she told me her 30yr old mixer (a Sunbeam) was finally starting to slow down. I was going to get her a Sunbeam since it would probably last her the rest of her life, but they are all notorious for having really fast speeds, even when set on "low". This one, however, does very well. Slow is slow, fast is fast. Apparently the Sunbeam was always a little fast anyway (explains why I could never use the thing without messing up the entire kitchen as a kid) so she's a little glad to have it. Seems it will last a long while, not quite as long as a Sunbeam (though we can't say for sure) but certainly a while, especially if you don't do a TON of baking like us. The one reason I took off a star is because the clip or button or whatever at the top that starts and stops the thing is a bit hard to use. My mother has little trouble because she's spent her life working and has strong hands, but if you have any sort of wrist condition or weak hands/fingers, you might take the possibility of that into consideration.

it's pretty darn sturdy
Every year I bake cookies for over 30 people...this year was just the same except I recently moved out and haven't had my own mixer for over a year. Just before Christmas I decided to buy one. I read a few reviews and settled on this one in white. It made it through four days straight of baking! I made thick batters such as a chocolate chip cookie and some of snickerdoodles...so I have to say, it's pretty darn sturdy.I really loved the dough hooks that it comes with as well. I used the dough hooks the other day actually, to make some pita bread and it worked great! I do think the true test will come when I make my cheesecake; now that is a pretty tough batter! The only downside I have seen to this mixer is a weird odor that comes from what I am assuming is the motor, other than that, this mixer is fantastic!

Power and Quite
Works like a champ but doesn't stay sitting upright worth a darn. Falls over on its side at the slightest vibration.Attachments need time being used over time to be able to spread the seating slots enough to become able to snap in. When new you will have to push hard and firm if yours is anything like mine. Which may be just fine I'm thinking cause it should make for a good seating for years to come.Another plus is its whisper quite while in use. It's a truly fine little machine and gets the job done right and fast.

Best Hand Mixer
I bought this mixer two years ago and I can say it's the best I've ever had. The motor is powerful when you need it and slow when you don't. It handles anything without over heating. I bake bread and I do use the dough hooks. I have never used them to knead the bread all the way through as I like to do that myself. I've seen some of the complaints about this model and I will say that the eject was fairly stiff when I first bought it. Over time, it has become less so. Even in the beginning, I didn't find this problematic and I have arthritis in my hands. I certainly would have called the company if it was so bad they wouldn't eject at all. I find most companies are very cooperative and would like their customers to be happy with their product. So it's silly to just sit and suffer. If I have a batter that is "crawling" up the beaters, I simply lift up a little for a second until it settles down. I don't know any mixer where a thick dough won't rise. At any rate, the price is certainly reasonable and the quality is very good. I can't tell you how many times mine has hit the floor (due to my carelessness) and it's still operating perfectly. Buy it.

Great power...
I ordered this hand mixer, and one of the beaters was bent. Deal Bazaar offered to replace it, but I opted for a refund instead. They not only gave me an instant refund, they said to keep my item as a free gift for my inconvenience!Well, I straightened the beater with plyers (they did really bend far too easily), and have used it since. Yes, it does tip if you don't watch it, slight design flaw for aesthetic reasons, I think. But, the choice of speeds and the strength of the motor would have made me keep it. It is well balanced for holding, has a lovely slow speed, and is very good looking. I didn't have any trouble removing the beaters, and if a beater hadn't of been bent, I wouldn't have thought of returning it. If Jarden fixes it's minor flaws, it will be a best seller.

A good machine
Works well, though the dough hooks are too small to be of use to me,( a whisk attachment would have been more useful for me) and the eject button for the beaters is very hard to use.Overall a good machine, not too heavy.

MUY BIEN
Todo bien, muy practico que lo podamos dejar parado gracias a su ergonomía diseñada para eso. Estoy satisfecha. Lo recomiendo.
