Good popcorn. Best popped in a Whirly Pop ...
This pops up much larger in a whirly pop. I used an air popper as well, but, it is not as good. This popcorn is firm, however I am not sure it has as much flavor as some others.I am still in search of Wendell Smith's Centennial Farms gourmet popcorn. I got a bag as a gift once. I can't get that popcorn out of my head. It was the best popcorn I ever had. I lost track of how to order this.

4-star popcorn popped in a microwave (silicon) popper, 2-star popcorn results popped in a stove-top popper... tough to chew.
I bought this based on the great reviews others have given. It's labeled as "Gourmet" so I figured buying this large a size of it for the first time would be low risk. I am very disappointed in this product. I use an aluminum twirly crank stove top popper with coconut oil and butter flavored salt as I do with all my other popcorn brands and varieties. The results from this popcorn are that the hulls are not only there but very tough to chew. In fact it gives my jaws a real workout.I contacted their customer service and they very quickly and graciously sent me a new carton of the same product and was told it would be "fresh". I had no complaints of the freshness of my purchased item as far as flavor goes, no hint of staleness in it. They suggested I follow a little different cooking strategy than what I normally use so when I got the new popcorn I followed those directions, using medium-high heat, pre-heating the popper till 3 kernals pop, then adding the rest of the corn to the oil in the bottom. Sadly, it too is just as tough to chew at the original popcorn results. Flavor, again, is no problem, in fact flavor is good. But the jawbone workout is not pleasant.Interestingly I tried popping both the original popcorn I bought and the new popcorn (separately) in a silicon microwave popper. The results came out the same (original vs new popcorn) and was much more tender and acceptable to me. So if you use this popcorn in that kind of popper, I would give this popcorn a 4 star rating. But in the twirly-crank stove top popper, it's a 2 star rating. I hate to give that for a company with excellent customer service but others need to know what they may get if they order this product.

Recommend-Popcorn Pops Fully, Tastes Great
Expectations: Popcorn pops quickly, Pops fully (large popcorn), Tastes great plain. IS: Check on all 3. Summary: I have been buying this popcorn on Amazon for over a year (maybe longer). Objective Evidence: 5 of 6 in my family eat it up quickly (ages 57, 56, 20, 15, 10). My 14 year old girl doesn't eat it often b/c she was never cared much for popcorn. Would I recommend it? Yes. Note: We use a hot air popcorn popper.

Consistent, light, fluffy kernels
On this occasion, I purchased this large plastic container of popcorn for my nephew as part of a graduation gift to send him off to college as it is a late night study snack favorite. The container is sturdy plastic and didn't break when knocked off a high shelf.I like this product as it consistently produces light, fluffy kernels with few unpopped kernels. As it is more expensive than grocery store brands, I usually save it for special movie nights and usually end up making a second batch.

Great product, big fluffy popcorn
I bought this popcorn because I have purchase several products from Hoosier Hill Farm and have been very satisfied with all of them. We have popped this popcorn in a cast iron skillet with cover, and then we tried our small electric popcorn machine. This made the FLUFFIEST popcorn we have ever had, it is so good, very few kernels were un popped. We will continue to buy this popcorn, we prefer it to any other brands we have tried, including some of the big brand named popcorn.

Good taste but with Some Problems...
This popcorn has a very good taste. Mine was either tough or a little stale, however. I am going to buy a few more brands to see the difference. It popped unevenly, however by using a little more oil and less popcorn, it helped. I have a west-bend stir crazy, which says gourmet does not do quite as well in that popper. I could only make small batches well, somewhat inconvenient. It may work for you. a good popcorn taste, but marred by the problems mentioned above.

Delicious and crisp!
I bought this because I was a transplanted Hoosier for 24 years until moving to the UK. I know Indiana's reputation for corn production. I also bought it because I had purchased a silicone popcorn bowl for the microwave, and wanted some excellent popcorn for the microwave. Previously I had been popping my popcorn in a big heavy pan on the stove. Popping this corn in the microwave resulted in fat crispy tasty popcorn with few husks, but only half of the kernels popped. Disappointing. So after a few tries with the silicone bowl, I put it aside and tried using my old faithful heavy pan on the stove. With this the popcorn bites were less crispy but with very few unpopped kernels. Either way, Hoosier Hills is delicious and I anticipate ordering it again and trying some of the colourful gourmet varieties.

Delicious home made popcorn
The media could not be loaded. These kernals are a good size, really tasty and there are few that don't pop; comes in a large plastic tub that will last for ages. I love making my own popcorn on my cooker hob and these corn kernals are great every time. I use a large pan, add about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and pop a couple of kernals in on a medium heat to test and get everything to the right temperature. Once the test kernals have popped, I take off the heat and remove the popped corn; sprinkle in some salt to taste, add a few handfuls of popcorn kernals, pop the pan lid on and shake. Put back on the heat and wait for the magic to happen...delicious!

Popcorn delivery
The popcorn arrived on time and in good condition and It was well packaged. I particularly like the fact the the jar was plastic yet robust. A glass jar would have been of considerable weight and I will reuse the jar once finished for other things.I have popped a few bowls worth so far and the popcorn tastes great. I recently had an operation to have some of my large intestine removed and had a colostomy bag fitted. It is important for me to have a regular amount of fiber to keep my digestive system moving and popcorn fits the bill perfectly along with a balanced diet. Having fresh popcorn like this means that it doesn't come loaded with salt and sugar a most cinema style popcorn does so quite healthy too.Once I run out I will certainly be ordering more from Hoosier Hill Farm. Thanks for a great product.

Hoosier Hill Farm Gourmet Popcorn
We tried this popcorn as we have tried many others but mainly oil based popping methods. We used a hot air air popping machine with these Kernels as it is more of a healthy option for snacking throughout the day.The Jar of kernels is massive, they will last a long time as you do not need a lot for one serving which is good as we snack on popcorn all the time.Every Kernel popped without any of them being spat out which is great and they taste pretty good on their own. We bought Caramel and butter seasoning to add after popping and it makes them taste phenomenal. Will definitely be buying more of these when this jar runs out. I highly recommend these kernels to anyone looking to popcorn for a snack.

Disapponting
One would think there would be no difference between brands, wrong! I bought this brand as it was on Prime and I needed popcorn in a hurry but it was so disappointing compared to my usual brand (Suma Organic Popcorn), the kernels are really small and once popped are not big and fluffy, they are almost spongy and still hard in the centre, the flavour is a little off too. I have been popping corn on the stovetop for many years and have used various brands over the years, perhaps I just got a bad batch but I am sorry to say this is the worst yet.
