nice colander !
I like this colander. It’s not super heavy duty, but it’s not flimsy either. 9.5 inches diameter is bigger than I expected. I got it to replace a smaller one that I melted (…don’t ask), that was probably closer to 6 - 7 inches. I’ll keep looking but keeping this one anyway. And I like the aqua color. I also like the placement of the good sized holes…They’re not just on the bottom but come up the sides a little bit - but not too high. You could strain spaghetti if you don’t mind a couple noodles slipping through a bit.

Lightweight and holes don't have ledges that trap food
I love how lightweight this colander is, and the fact that the holes have so little thickness/dimension that there's nothing for food to get stuck in. I had that problem with my former colander and it drove me nuts. Now, this might also have a downside as it may mean the colander is more fragile, but time will tell. In the meantime, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Handy colander
The holes were a little bigger than is ideal. It’s a happy color and easy to clean.

STRAINER
Do not ask for a strainer! This thing is called a colander! I was looking for something to help drain the water out of my pasta, hence, normally called a strainer, correct? I ordered two different items from Amazon that I thought were correct and was dumbfounded when they arrived. One was itty bitty and was used to strain canned items and got a bit of a chuckle out of myself and the other was something that you used on the side of a pot to drain out the water, not what I needed at all. I finally inserted the word colander, and the correct item arrived at last, this thing which looks every bit a strainer to me. Used it yesterday. Exactly what I needed. Easy. Seems good quality. Perfect STRAINER

Love It
I needed this to separate the small bird seed from the sunflower seeds in my feeders. Works great.

Bigger than I expected but perfect for what I needed.

Drains pasta
Works ok. But there should be a hole at the end of the handle at the bottom. Placed on dishwasher and water went everywhere.

Bird Seed filter and hole sizes measured
I have a thirty-year old cockatiel. He won't eat sunflower seeds like he used to. They are big and the small seeds fall to the bottom of the feeder. He has to dig under the sunflower that rises to the top. This colander made it easy to filter the sunflower out. My the holes are too small in my other colander and trapped some of the smaller seeds he likes. The circular holes at the bottom of this colander are 1/4 inch in diameter. The top row of oval holes are about 3/8 inch long and a little over 1/4 inch wide. The rest of the holes get progressively smaller to the bottom. I don't really want to change his food at this stage in his life. This is perfect! The cardinals will like the sunflowers!

Love the colour. Shipped as promised! Excellent quality, ordered two, one for home, the other for the cottage! No extra duty or delivery charges @ the door from courier since it was coming from the U. S. to Canada!

It is big and washes easily. Dishwasher safe, I just shove it in there and it comes out spotless every time. Strainer is also stable - I put it in the sink and dump the pasta in there and there is no spillage.

As previous reviewers have stated the holes are large enough for small pasta, like macaroni to go thru. It does however hold up with canned beans (kidney, chick peas) oddly enough. Still a good colander because of the handle.
