Why did I wait to buy this amazing tablet?
The first tablet I dipped my toe in the water with was an Acer Iconia. I chose Acer because I have used their laptops and have always been happy with them, so it was for my peace of mind I chose another Acer for a tablet. However once owned I was delighted with it but never used it much, the 7" was too small for me, some of the things I wanted to use it for where not easy to see or navigate, so in the drawer it went and stayed. However I never got rid of the wanting I had for a tablet, my laptop, which I was so amazed at after ditching the old desktop years ago, seemed bulky now and took up too much room, so I went on the hunt for exactly what I wanted, a tablet big enough to see and use with ease yet powerful enough, and affordable. I may say here, me and techy stuff are like oil and water, a 60 year old woman who has no idea what I am doing other than pressing the on off button, I was daunted and lost. I saw this and saved it on my wish list, and kept coming back to look and look, until I took the plunge. it was calling to me almost, so I ordered it.It arrived the next day and blimey, was I impressed. It set itself up for me, all I needed to do was input my router password and there it was, a shiny, big, really clever tablet, and I was in love with it.I have had it 3 days now, and I can do everything my laptop does for me. The apps are easy to navigate, easy to see, and so easy to use now. You do however need a stand or a standing cover, it is a bit heavy if you are watching something on it, and you will, the graphics on films and videos are superb, the sound is lovely, and the front facing speakers really are a surround delight.I am still learning the bones of it but to be honest, I dont need half the stuff it is packed with, so maybe I never will discover what they do, but if I need it, I know I could probably find it there.I have just cleaned and checked my laptop, now I am going to put it away, I dont need it now, I have my favourite ever bit of tech, and I dont think I will ever fall out of love with it.If you are dithering, as I was, go for it, it has been likened to, or surpassed the Apple brands, and going by those who know about these things, its a winner for them too.Had this a few weeks now, still in love with it, I now know what the apps do, I installed netfix as amazons films will not play on this nor will sky go, but apart from those two things, nothing has stopped me doing or watching whatever I want. Laptop still still in the cupboard its just there as backup. Highly recommended tablet.

Let down by terrible build quality.
When you spend over £300 on a tablet, you expect quality. Unfortunately this isnt it.Far too much flex in the back plate, and the sides creak A LOT. Something you should not have to put up with for the price. The screen is also very poor compared to other tablets at a similar price point. Gets washed out very easily, poor blacks, and poor viewing angles.S-Pen is great as always, but when I had this tablet, it only ran ICS, which was VERY laggy and slow. Wasn't willing to wait months on end for Samsung to finally release the Jelly Bean update.

Its a great piece of kit. But doesn't do everything I hoped for.
I made the jump to Android from Microsoft, hoping for a viable touchscreen PC solution. After months of use, these are my findings.No. I have to have both. The Tablet is excellent for Mobility, wireless connectivity, battery power, internet access, sound, visual display. The Android is excellent for App's, productivity, speed, quick referencing, social networking. The Microsoft PC is excellent for being a HUB to connect everything too. It is the king of connectivity. To my PC I connect my camera, printer, various USB's of varying formats, mobile phones, tablets.I also download and use programs that Android cannot interface with.Windows 8 is not a viable option for me, as the app's are not Android.I am used to the way android app's work, look and feel. Windows app's are different and lack something android does very well.Since i'm so used to the pin point accuracy of a good old Microsoft mouse. Touch screen is still finicky and less intuitive on any platform, be it Windows 8 or Android.I have to have, and need, both. Android is great, Microsoft is great. The only way for a consumer like me to be happy. Is for Microsoft to stay Windows 7, BUT with Android app's on the desktop.I doubt that will happen anytime soon. For me it goes down like this: Microsoft for work. Android for pleasure.Hope this helps

It needed Jelly Bean
I purchased this tablet because of my very favourable experience with the Galaxy Note 2 phone (or 'Phablet' if you prefer). Unfortunately the excellent capabilities of the phone are predominantly a product of the android jelly bean operating system in tandem with the Premium Suite of apps, none of which the Note 10.1 possesses at the moment. The Note 10.1 is by no means a bad product; the screen resolution is absolutely fine, the audio is very good and it has a very potent mix of hardware. I just found the user experience frustrating as I know it is capable of so much more given the necessary upgrade.I have now returned the item for a refund but I will definitely be purchasing the upgraded version whenever it is released.Update - The Jelly Bean and Premium suite updates now appear to be available and as one reviewer has already commented, this resolves many of the minor issues users were experiencing. This is definitely now a 5 star tablet.By the way, if you like the white version O2 are selling them for £318.
