Highly recommend
This is a long one, but it's worth the read if you're doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner: I picked this up in October so I've been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you're wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who's into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn't sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that's something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I've used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments... Not this one! I'm able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it's lightweight. I'm not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It's really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It's harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I'm very impressed! I wish I had bought this years ago. I will never buy another vacuum from anyone else other than Shark again. Good job, guys! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious little vacuum.

Strong Suction and Easy to Use Around the House
I picked up this Shark Navigator Lift-Away vacuum to replace an older one, and it’s been a big improvement. The suction is strong and does a great job picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair from both carpets and hard floors. One feature I really like is the Lift-Away option, which makes it much easier to clean stairs and tighter spaces without dragging the whole vacuum around. It’s also pretty lightweight and easy to maneuver around furniture. Emptying the dust bin is simple and not messy, which is always a plus. Overall, it’s a reliable vacuum that cleans well and is easy to use throughout the house. Definitely a solid choice if you want something powerful without being overly heavy or complicated.

Great vacuum that truly cleans well!
This is the second one I bought. I was so impressed with the first one that I bought this one for my mom. I loved the ease of use. I like that it is lightweight and truly easy to carry around. I love the canister that is in place of a vacuum bag.. no more dealing with vacuum bags!! Just a simple switch of a latch and the dirt empties from the canister and I am good to go for more vacuuming. I love the size of this.. no more cumbersome vacuums. This vacuum really does pick up a lot! I love to that is has a cord as the cordless vacuums seem to run out of steam quickly before they need a recharge. With this vacuum, I can literally do the whole house in one go! The accessory tools are great and meet our needs.. I use the accessories to clean the car, clean off the couch and seats in the house and clean up those tricky places where pet hair collects. This vacuum sucks a lot of dirt up! It is shocking and leaves my house feeling clean. My only complaint with this newer one is that it is harder to push. My other Shark upright vacuum that I bought a year ago is easy to push and use. This one requires more strength to push which is a bummer as it means it will be too much for my elderly mom. I will end up giving her my older Shark upright vacuum that I bought last year as its easier to push and I will use this one. It could be her rugs that make it harder to push.. I dont know. I have wall to wall rugs and she has large area rugs. Maybe there is a difference in the height of the material between the two types that makes it a challenge to use this vacuum on her rugs and makes it a breeze to use on my rugs. Not sure. But... overall, I still recommend this vacuum for its ability to use in all situations, ability to pick up dirt, durability, and it doesnt take up much space. I only gave this version a one star as it is harder to push than my older version.

Man power vacuum for us Moms
I have been through some vacuums in my days as a mom of boys, pets and my hubby.. LOL . This shark is well worth the $150. It has some powerful suction, a crevice tool, and a upholstery tool. I like that I can detach the canister from the unit and go vacuum the steps or ceilings. There is no stopping and trading attachments to go from carpet to bare floors, there is just a button setting to press and the transition is smooth. Its functionality is awesome. It doesnt do well on thin area rugs, the suction is too powerful. It is heavy while you vacuum stairs or ceilings, thats the only downside. Grab one.. its worth it.

Best vacuum ever!
This vacuum is outstanding!! The suction is absolutely incredible. I wish the dirt bucket was bigger , because this thing goes to work for you . You fill the bucket really fast because spots that you were sure were clean , try going over them again and you might be shocked, especially if you have dogs . I have two German Shepherds that blow their coats constantly this weird winter in Texas . It comes apart in many places to make cleaning so easy. It’s very easy to use , just watch out for area rugs and runners . This thing has such powerful suction, i almost sucked mine up a few times . It’s compact too. It doesn’t take up much space at all . Just the corner in the closet will do. I have had mine several months now and it still works as good as the first day . I love it ! It’s way better than the Dyson I had . Just saying.

Would purchase again
I bought this on a little bit of a whim after growing frustrated with my Miele vacuum and feeling like it just wasn’t getting the job done. First pass with this Shark vacuum proved my feelings were correct. The suction is excellent. It picks up so much dirt and dust. It is lighter than the Dyson ball and maneuvers easily. Attachments are all pretty intuitive and I like being able to easily lift off the barrel to use the wand attachment. I’m impressed with this vacuum and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again! It’s definitely a better value than most- I was about to spend more than the cost of this vacuum on a new attachment for my Miele and I’m so glad I decided to just purchase this vacuum instead!

Great suction, lift away not so much
I have always loved Shark products. They are high quality & usually last quite a while. The investment is definitely worth it. The suction on this vacuum is great! It’s not too heavy & moves easily. That being said I do have a few things I’m bringing up as the reason why this is not a five star review. They are listed from most annoying (in my opinion) to least. First of all my past purchases of Shark vacuums have always had a light on them. My last one had a light on the front base AND on the hose end. It made it easy to see dirt and debris. This vacuum doesn’t have a single light so I can’t see if I’m missing anything in poor lit areas. Secondly, the title says lift away. While you can make this a functional vacuum that easily reaches under low clearance areas, getting it to that point is not as easy as it sounds. Again my past vacuum purchase from Shark had a single button that you push to lift the canister off the hose base and go. This vacuum doesn’t work that way. You have to detach the hose from the canister and detach the canister from the base, then connect the base and the hose together. This is cumbersome & was hard for me to figure out how the lift away worked at first. It takes more time and is kind of annoying. Also, the canister doesn’t stand by itself, so you have to hold it the entire time you’re using the base and hose by themselves. Then when you are done, you have to disconnect things and reconnect them in the original set up. The canister has plastic connections on the inside that make the debris inside get stuck on and won’t fall freely out of the canister. Because it gets tangled on the inside I find myself reaching in and having to pull out the debris manually. Thus getting my hands full of dust and other gross things. Lastly, while suction is normally a good thing, when the base floor (no brush) switch is engaged I cannot vacuum the rugs because the high suction doesn’t allow me to move across them. It just pulls up the portion of the run I’m directly above and cannot move the vacuum. I’m not sure how I am going to clean the rugs from here on out. While I got this on sale at a reasonable price (just under $100) & would probably pay what I did for this model again, had I paid the original price (almost $300) for this model I would be sending it back as my previous Shark was around the $300 price with all of the easier feature I have mentioned in this review. (Lights, cleaning rugs, lift away, etc) Update #1: In learning how to use the “lift away” option I have now found out after trying to vacuum my stairs this way, when the canister is not attached to the base it will not engage the brush on the base (just suction). So I can’t even vacuum my stairs with the brush engaged in lift away mode. Which is why I knocked it down to 3 stars. So disappointing. Isn’t the reason for lift away so that you don’t have such a heavy vacuum going up and down them? You can’t get carpeted stairs clean with this vacuum. Fail

The suction power alone is worth five stars, but I still have some quibbles
I thought our full-size Dyson was powerful, but this blows (or maybe sucks) it away. So its strongest point is suction, which is the main purpose of a vacuum. Another strong point: it feels like a high quality product, and the clips and latches that hold parts together seem sturdy. (Breakable plastic parts were a sore point on our Dyson.) Gripes: it's more narrow than I like, so it takes longer to clean a large area. Also, the more useful tools (brushes, etc.) are an extra-cost option (basic tools are included). The dust container is easy to empty, EXCEPT that the design allows some debris (dog hair) to collect in a narrow spot, so keep a flat tool (like a long comb) handy to pull that out when emptying the bin. Final (and maybe most important) point: the suction is wonderful on hard floors and most carpets, but on a particularly plush carpet, the suction is so strong that it's very difficult to push the vacuum. Putting it in hard floor mode (which turns off the beater) helps, but not enough. We have to use a less powerful stick vac in our bedroom, because that room has a deep plush carpet.
