It's sturdy and attractive, and comes with the extras like the biodegradable plastic bags and activated charcoal filters at a discounted rate compared to buying them separately.It does an excellent job containing all of the odors, after being used for almost a month now. It attracts not so much as a fruit fly. My wife and I love its attractive functionality and its obviously durable practicality.I've received things in error before too-who hasn't? Before crying wolf, the adult thing to do is to seek a remedy through the seller and/or Amazon before pointing fingers and making false accusations and statements ("57 states") like Obama loved to do.My recent example was ordering some garden pruning shears and getting a sprinkler (that was actually more expensive than the item ordered) here on Amazon. Of course I wasn't a happy camper.In that case, the seller made it right immediately. How unfair it would have been to that seller and what a fool I'd have made of myself if I'd went off before giving that merchant an opportunity to make things right.Once things were settled, THEN a review was posted, based on the actual and factual experiences, and not go off and start crying about it in a knee-jerk fashion by accusing the proprietor of being a swindler.People make mistakes in shipping-like in any other area in life. So find out if it was an honest mistake or in fact someone was trying to pull a fast one-THEN one can leave a credible and intelligent review.

Beautiful and functional addition to my kitchen. The filters (included with purchase) keep any smells contained in the pail.

I never thought I’d pay so much for a compost bucket but I’m so happy I did and got this one. It’s color is great even after several weeks of use. The carbon filters really do take all the smell away. (Need to dump it as often as possible in summer heat though!) The lid fits nice (not too tight to be able to remove with one hand). The handle is more robust than I expected and is strongly attached. It came with bags which I used the first few times but when you drop stuff in it the bags fall inside. I suppose you could use a large rubber band to hold the bag at the top but honestly just using it without the bag and washing it out is no big deal. Plus it holds a lot of stuff. I would definitely buy this again and I do recommend it.

composter is wonderful. The liners are cheap and flimsy. They tear very easily so have had to trash them, often, without using them.

My husband bought this for me for a Christmas gift. It has made our kitchen a much nicer place to be! Pretty, functional, and super easy to empty with the biodegradable bags. Our 7-year-old, who is in charge of emptying the compost, loves it. He said he wished it was his present!The pail is very easy to clean, especially since the bulk of the mess comes out with the liner. The lid takes a tad more attention to wash, having to remove the filters and then wash in the space where the filters sit. It's a little hard to get it rinsed and dried because of the lip that holds the filters in, but certainly nowhere near a deal breaker, and only hard in comparison to the extreme ease of washing the bucket part.The filters work very well, too. We fill it mostly with coffee grounds, egg shells and fruit & vegetable scraps. No odor is noticeable even if it's only emptied once or twice a week.I am very pleased with this compost pail and highly recommend it.

I bought this to replace a coffee can under the sink with. We have a copper sink and a black and copper hood range and copper ceiling tile in our kitchen so I wanted to have acopper colored compost container. This looks very nice on the counter and since I don't have to stick it under the sink it is very convenient. I love the biodegradable bags and the filters really help with keeping the smell down. All in all I love the container

No odor from compost and thankful for the included bags.Be careful if you use the bags- the biodegradable material becomes a flimsy elastic membrane when it gets soggy.I had one stressful trip to the outside compost with a bulging compost bag in my hands. The bags, when full, have the stretchy quality of a wet spring roll wrapper.If you’ve ever made spring rolls with those tapioca wrappers you moisten and then fill and roll, you’ll be familiar with how easy it is to accidentally poke a hole in one- I was scared it would burst and deposit semi-rotting fruit and veggie scraps, eggshells and coffee grounds on my floor! The bag held and I will be carting the whole bucket outside now to deposit my compost in the bin.

Much nicer than my old one. No smell, less mold and seals well. Very easy to keep clean!

Very nice product but also so expensive in comparison to other similar products. The bags rip easily.
