Pro Dye Leather Dye (4 Fl Oz) - Alcohol-Based, Penetrating, Permanent Dye for Shoes, Belts, Furniture - Vivid Color, Superior Color Fastness

I chose Fiebing's Pro Dye (Walnut) after researching how to revive a lightly stained handbag with a darker color. The product applied smoothly, easily covered the flap stain and renewed the handbag with richer color and shine. I also used the Pro Dye on the previously orange-brown leather ends of a new embroidered cross-body strap -- it matched nicely. The Pro Dye is a great product -- it went on evenly, dried quickly, left a nice finish and has not rubbed off. I used about 1/4 of a 4oz bottle, with a fair amount of product absorbed by the polyester sherpa scrap I used as an applicator. Should have just bought an applicator. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results of one coat. Worth it!!

My husband has used this product on shoes that he wanted to be a darker brown. It works great, covers well, and is easy to apply. Once it dries it does not rub off, although if necessary you can do a touch up. There is some smell, but it's not terrible

I've used this stuff to dye guitar wood black for 20 years. Its excellent. Better than any wood stain. Smell isn't bad - stinks less than a sharpie. Coverage is insanely good. Most recent order didn't come with a wool dabber. Kinda lame but whatever. I still love you Fiebings.

Working great gives a nice mahogany brown

I had a pair of shoes that I wished were black, so I stripped them and used this to dye them black. This was a much easier process than I expected. It didn’t dye over the red completely, but looks wonderful. You can only see a reddish sheen in bright sun and it looks like they were made that way on purpose. I dyed them a year ago and they still look great!

Fiebing’s Pro Dye is the best consumer leather dye. It works excellent on natural vegetable tan leather, but it can also be used to re-dye leather products (after deglazing of course). I used this to change the color of some old leather hiking boots. Due to the oils, the leather doesn’t feel dry after use, compared to other leather dye. There’s a mandatory shipping fee within Japan due to the flammable chemicals used.
