Q: I have a 7 year lucasi custom lze29 cue with a unilock quick release joint will this fit my cue. it says quick release but not unilock quick release?

Not sure. Order it and worst case you just return.

It won't be compatible. The 3/8″ x 14″ joint pin is relatively unique to Cuetec.

Q: How do know what pin size I need???

You can go to a hardware store and buy a plastic gauge that is maybe $5 and it has most all bolt sizes, just insert the threaded part and you will see which hole it fits, and then get a thread gauge, it’s like a feeler gauge that has zig zag edges. The thread size is stamped on each piece. Find a thread that looks like it, then hold it on and up to the light, if it fits in the grooves perfectly that’s the thread size. They sell that thread gauge in metric too, I’d get them both. So for say $20 you will have a nice addition to your tool box. The thread gauge thing is stupid easy, might not think so but have the clerk show you or take it to the bolt section and try it. They are great, you can measure a bolt and not have to stand in the store awhile trying to figure out what matches the bolt you took down there… makes it easy to order on line too because you know what size you need. The pool guys are good, you show a nice pic, 98% will know by looking at it, especially if the brand of cue is mentioned. Same cue can have a different pin but they have an in house size they usually use.
