I don’t know how you work with denim insulation without one of these!
This turned out to be a game changer. Now cutting the batts is not a problem. I use the blade with a reciprocating saw. I worried that the blade would dull quickly, but that has not been a problem.

Used and re-packaged sold as new.
While the design of the unit itself is great - Amazon shipped one that had clearly been opened, used, and returned as a "new" item.If I get a used item, I'd expect to pay a used price, not list.

A MUST HAVE for anyone working with insulation
One of my least enjoyed tasks is working with fiberglass insulation. Even with the best knife, and I've tried them all, you can never get a clean cut through faced fiberglass insulation.Well, this tool has totally eliminated all of my frustration...and itching...when working with fiberglass insulation. The lever easily compresses the insulation so you can get a nice, clean, even cut every single time.Even if you just occasionally work with insulation, the low cost of this tool makes it a very worthwhile purchase.

Best way to cut fiberglass batts
Insulating a vaulted ceiling with 6"x23" wide fiberglass. Had to make a lot(~90)of cuts to make the batt fit the 28 1/2" space between the joists. I cut them at 30" so I'd have enough paper to staple to. This tool made it super easy to make a bunch of accurate cuts. It compresses the glass when you close the arm and the knife cuts through like its not there. Even comes with a sharpener.
