Worth many times the cost
I’m only half way through this book and I can tell it’s already one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s a book that’s hard to put down and really helps as long as you work on applying it. Great advice and introduction to Stoicism. It’s helping my fiancée and I both.Thank you.

Great Introduction
This was exactly what I was looking for. It was presented in a concise and informative manner and has since then has prompted me to do more in-depth reading.I highly recommend it as a great entry point into this incredibly fascinating philosophy, which can result in real personal changes.

Very Comprehensive easy to follow Great intro into this philosophy
Overall the book gave a solid foundation as to what stoicism is all about. I come from a Word of faith background and this gave me supplemental wisdom and advice. I really enjoyed the self analyzing and pausing before making any responses. One key point that really stuck with me is; We don't really suffer its only our interpretation of events that make us suffer. Stoicism is a very powerful tool because it takes the expectations we have and view them from rational lenses. There are however things I don't see eye to eye with like negative visualization and imaging the worst case scenario, bad things can happen but I don't agree that I should focus or contemplate on those things regularly. I do believe I manifestation whatever you say and focus you will attract good or bad. All in all solid read but some bones that I spit out.

Helping me find my own path during this stressful and difficult time in my life/career.
My career is currently falling apart around me (public middle school science teacher) and I am rebuilding my family after a brutal divorce. The stoic principals are the first set of "guidelines" I have found for living that really resonate. I am not sure about other folks that are in their mid-forties and experiencing the same level of life-stress and turning to self-reflection, therapy and introspective planning, but buying a Mazda Miata and getting hair plugs like my parent's generation of men just doesn't feel right. I want to be a better human a good father and a good husband. To do that, I am now learning from the greatest minds in stoicism. This book is a great introduction. Jonas Salzgeber has done a spectacular job of writing a framework for us all to use in this modern moment. Come join in the resurgence of Stoicism and see how much living your life in service to your fellow humans, taking possession of your choices, your emotions and your future!

EXCELLENT BOOK
I just finished this book and I have to say, it is an excellent book. I've purchased 4 of these books and gave them to my friends and also to my sons. I will begin reading it once again tomorrow. It's a book that will always be sitting by my nightstand. It is thought provoking and makes you want to be a better person. I found so many principles that can be found in the bible. It makes you desire a higher self and gives you strategies in those times when things are going wrong. It teaches you ways to be patient, loving and kind with people that may not have the same desires as yourself.I feel this book should be read by all people, especially young men and women. This book is truly a value add to all people.

Reflective Position
I’m no bully but I’m tempered. I learned I have to fight for everything in my life. It was working until I lost strength. My life was collapsing. It was dark for months.I realized that we all can land in the shadows by powers we don’t control, but staying in there is a choice. I chose to heal.I went to therapy, and I started buying books about living good life. I bet that’s why it was in my recommendations. I wish I got this book earlier (maybe when I was in my 20s). I decided to change. I needed an example. I got it - this book shows the practices that can improve you.I won’t tell you what I learned because I don’t want to vomit before I digest it. I can tell you this: after reading half of this position, I bought 3 books in my native language - 1 for myself and 2 for my family members.

Outstanding Book!
Jonas,I was glad to see you as a participant in the recent Stoicon 2022 since I had just finished reading your book. What I really appreciated about your book was how practical it is for a beginner like me. You really do a great job to help in the understanding of each topic you presented, like especially the "Stoic Happiness Triangle in a Nutshell". That helped me to understand how to explain what Stoicism is in a way I could explain it to others and myself. Also the 55 practices help to show how to apply Stoic principle in so many ways. Again you gave very helpful understandings to each one of these. In fact, all the parts of the book were helpful for me.This will now be a book I'll keep going back to for helping me remember the basic concepts of Stoicism so I can work to apply them.I also appreciate all the thought you put into writing this. It looks like a lot of worthwhile work went into putting this together especially for me to use. Thank you.

Ehh
83 pages in right now. Really want to love it, but it is so far very repetitive. Started highlighting things that spoke to me, flipped back thus far and it's a lot of repetition. With a lot of different analogies for the same points. For instance I got the concept after one page and it would go on for 10+ explaining again. Definitions of words were also repetitive. But was kinda helpful because it was words not very familiar. Kinda feels like when I would write a college essay and it needed to be a certain amount of words longer so stretched it out 😬 still enjoyable and important knowledge and I will try to finish it. Reading it in short bursts..
