The Complete Tales of H.P. Lovecraft (Volume 3) (Timeless Classics, 3)

Everything about it says "quality". Front cover and marbled-like inset pages are gorgeous and fit the theme of the book. It's like holding a piece of art. Large and legible text makes it a joy to read, even in low-light rooms. It even comes with a cloth ribbon bookmark! I will cherish this book for the rest of my life. HIGHLY recommended!

One of the best "special edition" books I've ever bought. Many times, these types of books have wafer thin paper, tiny text, and though beautiful, they feel like they'll fall apart if you don't treat them like museum pieces. Not this book. It is beautiful to look at, with understated yet excellent and appropriate art on the binding. But unlike many other similar books, it feels solid in your hands and I haven't been concerned about needing to baby it at all while reading. The text is normal sized and easy to read, and the stories are here in all of their glory. Very happy with this, so much so that I'm going to be ordering some more compilations from the same series.

This book is VERY well-made, with embossed art on the cover, thick and sturdy binding, and large print and font. It also includes all of Lovecraft's work (except for some of his very early work and collabs with other authors). It comes with a good introduction as well. Highly recommend!

Awesome book, really good quality and I love the design of the front cover. Even comes with a built-in book mark ribbon. Contains a lot of stories, not just the more well known ones. Definitely recommend if you are looking to get into H. P. Lovecraft’s stories.

A hansom book. The green cover with gold foil is a nice touch and tastefully done. Bought it as a gift for a friend as a shelf-piece. And, honestly wanted to keep it for myself.

It is a pretty book the print is a bit too small and the pages are thin but I can still read it and that is what I wanted it for.

I did some extra searching to find a Lovecraft collection that would look good on a bookshelf, and this one really does look at least as good as advertised. Cthulhu's eyes even have little indentations on the cover! It really feels like a good, solid tome, and there is SO MUCH to read. It's not often one of the best options for a collection is also this affordable.

MISE A JOUR : j'ai pris le risque de le commander une deuxième fois sur Amazon.de (Allemagne). L'article est arrivé TRES vite et il était en conditions impeccables. Du coup, si vous obtenez la version bien imprimée, c'est une régal. Police claire et bien lisible, mise en page parfaite, bonne introduction, marque-page incorporé et couverture belle et solide. Je recommande, mais attention ! Des copies à la couverture montée à l'envers ou aux pages mal assemblées existent ! Ne soyez pas étonnés si vous devez le restituer et en commander un autre ! (en tout cas, la restitution heureusement est gratuite, donc ça vaut le coup d'essayer cette belle copie des oeuvres de Lovecraft, une valeur sûre !). Mon avis PRECEDENT, suite à la première commande : "Le contenu (textes, index, recueil de nouvelles, etc...) était bien entendu conforme et il me tardait d'y plonger dedans. Malheureusement, ce beau livre avait : 1) La couverture montée à l'envers (il fallait retourner et tourner le livre) et donc le marque-page en bas... 2) La couverture était légèrement endommagée. Pour un livre à presque 30 €, censé être une belle édition avec couverture rigide et marque page intégré, c'est vraiment dommage. Je viens de retourner ma commande et, pour éviter ce problème, j'ai commandé une autre édition de l'ouvrage (car je ne suis manifestement pas le seul à avoir trouvé la couverture montée à l'envers). Ne souhaitant recevoir potentiellement un livre à la couverture mal montée, je ne prends pas de risques..."

This is a fantastic collection of H P Lovecraft fiction, which exceeds the coverage of most other offerings. First of all, most Lovecraft collections or so-called “Necronomicon” don’t actually include the full collection of his fiction, which is disappointing at best and downright annoying. Years ago I bought a “Necronomicon” for someone, yet it was lacking several stories that this edition includes. Secondly, this edition of Lovecraft’s works has a lovely ribbon marker, which may seem like a small bonus, but in a tome as large as this it really is necessary! Bookmarks can fall out, but the ribbon stays put and allows rapid recovery of your actual reading point. Next, the actual quality of this volume is very good. The solid hardback cover keep the pages safe, with a satisfying slightly rubber texture to it, making it comfortable to keep a hand on it. The pages are nicely weighted, so you get a crisp page flip without them being tissue thin. The text is large enough to legible without being overly sized, and the printing is consistent. Finally, this book is a definite value-for-money purchase - you can pick it up any time and find a story that’s gripping and compelling.

It's beautiful and complete. If it's your first HP Lovecraft book, maybe look up the popular ones and go through them first. This contains pretty much every single Lovecraft story, so unless you're a real fan it's not very exciting to read his simpler earlier works. Start with: - At the Mountains of Madness - The Shadow over Innsmouth - The Call of Cthulhu ENJOY :)
