Worth the price
This alcohol burner works great. It is hard putting in the wick but it’s doable. Just wish the cover wasn’t such a thin plastic but it kills the flame

Great replacement for bunsen burners
I bought these as a replacement for standard bunsen burners to use in a lab without a gas line. These work wonderfully for my needs. recommend.

Perfect title for school laboratories
The material is of good quality and includes a funnel, which allows the container to be filled without the risk of spilling. It also comes with additional wicks that are easy to replace. I am very pleased with the product, which I use in the laboratory as a high school teacher. The packaging is well done.

Even with 75% isopropyl, it won't stay lit
The design is basic, and looks fine, like it should work. But even with 75% isopropyl, it won't stay lit for more than a minute. It wicks just fine, but just won't stay lit.We have adjusted the wick, cut it, shaped it, everything I can think of. I've used alcohol burners before that worked great, and wanted another one that I could use to teach kids how to shape flint glass. But this thing just WON'T stay lit!!I assume it's the wick somehow. The photos showed a wick with a wire mesh (to hold a shape) but mine didn't have that, just cotton wicks. They should work fine, but they don't. Doesn't matter if I empty it and pour fresh alcohol into it, or if I put the cap on tight and come back to it later. I get orange flame for a few seconds, and then---snuffs itself out.I'm disappointed, but I had it a month before I tried using it. No refund for me.I have not tried 95% ethanol (Everclear is EXPENSIVE) or 99% isopropyl alcohol (which is in SHORT/non-existent supply nowadays), but when I used these as a young buck, 70% was all that was available--and they worked great. This one, for whatever reason, just DOESN'T.

Why a plastic cap?
I returned this because I thought the cap was ceramic or glass; how please would you snuff out the flame? The plastic cap didn’t fit to seal the top of the lamp so it wouldn’t prevent alcohol evaporation. Not sure of the purpose.Otherwise the lamp was made of glass of a nice thickness, the wick holder ceramic and held the wick sturdy, and there were extra wicks in this set.Non adjustable but I didn’t bother lighting once I saw the cap of unknown function.
