Book I read for fun.
This a good book. I am a slow reader, but I really liked this book, it's about a lady who has a young son. She talks about her loves, and then break ups, and how she makes money for them to live. I am not all the way through it, but I am reading her dancing in a strip club, and she gets along with the other girls, and how she loves to dance and she's very good, and the other girls are jealous. It's really fun to read. I like it so far.

Maya Angelou's six-volume autobiography series - book 3
My wife is a big fan of Maya Angelou so I got the series for her. She told that me just as with the first two books in the series, she found Maya's life story fascinating, thoroughly enjoyed this book, and could barely put it down.

Fun and Gershwin
In this the third part of her fascinating autobiography Maya Angelou hits the road and travels through Europe and Egypt with Porgy and Bess. Free from being tied down by her young son, or by the constraints of US society, she has a good time living a life of parties and applause. This part of her story is very much a road come adventure story. The opportunity to travel did obviously widen her horizons and expose her to different types of white and black people both good and bad, as well a re-inforcing her love for her son.

Great
I really loved this book a lot but there were 2 things toward the end that bothered me a bit.Maya did bring her son to tour with Porgy and Bess because she did not want him to be influenced by gay people. When Maya visited Tel Aviv there was a line that was disrespectful of Palestinians.

Prose, both Poetic and Prophetic
This addition to the life of Maya Anjelou is not only insightful, but opens the reader's eyes to far continents and politics. How I wish I could have met her.

Am loving the Maya Angelou series.
Having been recommended to read Maya Angelou's works I am very much enjoying reading her biographies. They are and easy and enticing read about a woman who has certainly been through her fair share of life experiences. And I have only just got to her late teenage years! Looking forward to reading on.

Essential reading
I love Maya’s autobiographies her narrative is always beautiful. I have cried and laughed many times reading her books. What a beautiful human being with an inspiring journey. If you don’t want to read all of the autobiographies, at least read I Know Why a Caged Bird Sings you’ll then want to read them all!

Good book but a bit slow
This is a good read but I must admit I did get a bit tired of all the ‘name dropping’ which becomes tiresome after awhile
