Required to plug standpipe
I purchased this stopper to plug the overflow standpipe when plunging my bath tub. Otherwise the force is dissipated away from the drain. It is easy to use. You insert the balloon and inflate it with an hand pump or regulated compressor. Very little air is actually needed for a tight seal.

Works as expected
There’s not a lot to say about a product like this, it either works or it doesn’t. And this one works. I was able to plug my shower drain for inspection while remodeling the basement and this held the water back for 12 hours while doing my leak test. What more could you ask for? I would recommend hanging the handle off a nail or screw though, the nylon “leash” will put an insignificant amount of water on the floor, due to capillary action, if you just let it lay over the edge of the curb. Won’t matter for most people I’m sure, but it was an observation that I made while using it.

Perfect
I use this for every shower inspection i have with the city and zero issues. Left one for over a week and the water level never moved. Perfect!

May need an air hose for cleanouts
It works ok if you use it right at the end of a pipe. However, if you need to push it further into the pipe, like past the Wye joint in an outside septic cleanout, be aware that you will need a special extension air hose that is long enough and designed to be used with a ball like this. The other is that the pull out strap is only about 38" long, which kept me from pushing the bulb past the wye joint and into the main pipe. I suppose you could tie a longer rope to it.
