Constructed for the on-and-off-the-bike demands of all-mountain riding, the Giro Terraduro MTB Shoes combine a low-profile design with extremely tough features. They're built around a stout nylon shank that provides the rigid pedaling platform of a pro-level XC shoe. High-grip Vibram rubber outsole inspires confidence when scrambling over rocks and logs. Slim, micro-adjustable buckle and dual offset straps give a sure and supportive fit while the reinforced toe box offers protection from impacts. Full Vibram lugged outsole provides high traction when used with pedals and is flexible enough for on foot pursuits Molded SPD-compatible shank with optimized cleat zone for stiffness Flexible forefoot zone provides walking ease Precision Fit last hugs the foot closely without binding, crowding or discomfort High quality, microfiber upper is breathable, supple and water-resistant Molded EVA footbed with medium arch support for comfort Aegis footbed treatment uses an antimicrobial barrier to eliminate odors, discoloration and fading Direct-injected rubber "armor" toe cap for protection Wide offset straps, including "D-ring" mid-foot strap, eliminate pressure points Strong and secure MR-2 ratcheting buckle closure (replaceable)

The outer sole provides good grip and the upper provides a good fit
I had a lot of hope for this shoe. And my first couple rides made me feel confident in my purchase. The outer sole provides good grip and the upper provides a good fit. There's one major flaw though, and that's with the insole/footbed around the cleat. There's a concave rectangular portion there, and that depression creates a weak spot in the shoe. I tried filling it in with the hopes the sole logic insert I use would mitigate the discomfort, but sadly it was to no avail. Now, I can't tell if the cleat is pushing up from the bottom or if blood is pooling in the area caused by the recession, but the end result is my right foot goes numb from about the ball of my foot to my toes. This would be a solid 4.5 shoe if theyd've put more effort into stiffening the cleat area, but they took the cheap approach and now im having to shop around for something better.Pretty disappointed.

3,000 mile review - held up excellently - best MTB shoes I've had
This is my second pair, they are fantastic MTB shoes, comfortable on and off the bike, good trip when you have to walk. I have tried other shoes but I always come back to these. The last pair held up really well over 3,000 miles and they were still in okay shape.Only advice is just get the cheapest pair you can find, even if that means they are like green - they still work the same and will save you almost 50-60%!

Unique shoe style that works well (maybe) despite being a bit chunky
I got this shoe to replace an older pair of mid level mountain bike shoes that I bought years ago. I use them on my all-road bike that I truly ride on all types of roads. A majority of my miles are on pavement though so I didn't want to sacrifice a nice stiff sole for power transfer. I also commute on this bike so I need to be able to walk easily. I've done a four day rails to trails tour and a fifty mile gravel race on this bike, so I wanted a shoe that would be versatile in all these environments without looking garish if I ride down to the brewery for a pint. This shoe does a pretty good job at all those things...but...I'm not totally in love with it. The sole is not your typical chunky mountain bike tread, which was a major selling point for me considering my specific demands, and is therefore very easy for walking. It's as close to a normal shoe as any bike shoe I've ever owned. To be honest it kind of reminds me of old school mountain bike shoes from the 90s, before they got all agro...dude. The sole flexes a bit to make it easier for walking around but still manages to be plenty stiff for pedalling. It's comfortable enough and I imagine will continue to break in a bit more the longer I wear it. The top buckle works well enough and the velcro straps work as you'd expect. I hope, and expect, that the Vibram sole will be long wearing because this shoe feels like it's built for durability. Which, as so often is the case, is part of its downside as well. This thing is a tank & is predictably pretty heavy. The upper is pretty solid and I get the feeling that in the hot summer months will be pretty warm, despite the few perforations scattered about. I could be wrong about this, and I hope I am. Sadly enough Giro seems to be the only company that is making a shoe that fits this niche, at least that I could find. I have a narrow foot and this thing is comfortable enough, not like my Sidi road shoes that feel like slippers though. The insert feels pretty cheesy, but that's pretty typical and there are plenty of alternative upgrades in that department. I'd really like to say I love this shoe and give it 5 stars but it falls just short. It does everything I want but doesn't have that certain something that makes a shoe great. Would I buy it again? Yes, but primarily because of a lack of competition.*****Update: I've downgraded my review from 4 to 3 stars. I've worn this shoe now for a few months. It has broken in a bit but I find myself wearing the shoe on the loose side to avoid discomfort. I wear my road shoes in varying degrees of tightness depending on how I feel on a given ride and often adjust them as the ride progresses. I've never had any problem doing this but when I wear the Giro on the loose side the tongue migrates to the outside of the shoe, leaving the top of my foot up against the strap; not cool. My hope is that I can find a comfortable level of tightness so that I can get some good usage out of this shoe! I'm not going to throw away a $165 pair of shoes! All of the things I said in the previous paragraph still hold true. I do hope this shoe gets better, it's not killing my feet it's just little problems here and there. Still trying to sort it out. Everyone's foot is different and perhaps this shoe works very well for others.

My favorite shoe
I like the giro brand...helmets, shoes and gloves. I’ve found that the gloves aren’t the most durable but have gotten excellent life out of the shoes. This is my 3rd pair over the years. They have the vibram soles which make them comfortable for bike/hiking when the trail gets bad. Usually you compromise between a walkable cycling shoe and a high performance cycling shoe. This one is great at both! They aren’t the lightest so if you are a weight weenie racer dude, these are awesome! I usually wear a size 11 in every shoe I own and this one is no exception so they are pretty true to fit.

So far amazing fit at 20 mile mark - I am a solid 10.5-11.0 wide and went with 45.5. Adjustability as your foot expands during a ride is perfect - the "red" is closer to a orange - which is fine I am not a fashion queen, i am more interested in comfort and function - they stand out. Stiff where you want them, soft where you don't- read they "pinched" some guys big toe --- not so for me- no hot spots and good ventilation on a 95 degree day and black top ride. They walk like 1/2 a ski boot, but I adjusted easily and comfortably. At $80 delivered in 3 days ---- an absolute steal.

Nice, but....
If you are looking for a weekend riding shoe this could be great. However, if you are looking to race this is not it. These things are heavy, very heavy. I've had shoes with Vibram soles and they were light enough to race in. However, the collective construction of these things equals the lead weighted moon boots used in the first lunar landing.

Snug Fit, Overall Very Good
I haven't replaced my MTB shoes for quite some time, so I was very excited to get these and go out for a ride. ..unfortunately one of the shoes had a cleat plate that was not threaded in the factory and would therefore not accept the screws for the cleat. After stopping at a few LBS I was able to track down a replacement plate, simple fix. As far as fit I would suggest a half size up, maybe more, as I wear a 9.5 to a 10 depending on the shoe, and these in a 10 (43.5) were very tight (narrow/low volume) and for the first 50 or so miles of riding they hurt my feet...they are breaking in nicely, but I still think they are sized small, and a 44 is more realistic as a US10.

A good shoe with a fatal flaw
Overall a good shoe as far as durability and design but I have been having a problem with them that I had hoped would clear up with break-in but hasnt after months of use. The tongue of the shoe will not stay put. Within minutes of riding it starts to migrate towards the arch of my foot eventually working its way all the way over becoming very uncomfortable. It happens with both shoes and does it regardless of of how tight I ratchet the straps down. Its a shame since I like everything else about the shoe.

Scarpe per trail-all mountain
Erano proprio ciò che cercavo: un ottimo compromesso per XC-Trail-Enduro. Io calzo normalmente il 43, ma come per le altre GIRO che possiedo, ho scelto anche per queste il 44. Scelta azzeccata. Promosse a pieni voti

Talla pequeña
La zapatilla es fabulosa, pero talla pequeña. en zapatillas de deporte tengo un 42 y en ésta he tenido que comprar el 43, por lo demás muy buena zapatilla.
