Updated Review: 3 years of Use. Good, compact commercial grade fan.
UPDATE June 30, 2015: Purchased this on July 9, 2012. And 4 more shortly there after. The fans are still working great after 3 years of consistent use. In the summer time, they are on consistently from 9:30am to 6:00pm, 6 days a week. One seems to have slowed down on the lowest setting, but it has three settings so it is no problem. Air condition technician told me to strategically place the fans where the cold air will escape the most (e.g., by the door) and it has worked great in keeping the cool air in. The fan is very loud on the highest setting, but it is also very strong. Also research how much energy it takes to run a fan all day. Go this website: http://energyusecalculator.com/electricity_ceilingfan.htm . It is not much, like less then 20 cents a day or something like that depending on what setting you use it. The wattage of this fan runs 85, 76 and 64 watts depending on the setting;I have a 4,000 + square foot retail store. The building is old and with customers continuing to open and close the doors, the cold air escapes pretty easily so it is difficult to cool down the store. I bought one unit to try out. The fan feels solidly built and it comes with instructions on how to install. It has a handle to where you can hang it or bolt into certain things and it also comes with a cable wire. I just hung it from three slatwall hooks on a slatwall. The unit is solidly built to where it feels heavy, but not too heavy. It has three speed modes which is controlled by the pull of a chain. I put it right by the main duct way where the cold air blows out and instantly the area around there became colder faster. I ordered three more units and placed one by the door and the others strategically placed. The store is now significantly colder, faster. There is not that much more significant noise in my opinion and I hardly know it is on. Good fan over for commercial areas, workout areas, garages, and such.

Don't be scared, it's great for white noise in a bedroom!
I mounted this high on the wall in my 2-year-old's room for white noise / air flow, and couldn't be happier. I know a lot of reviewers were talking about it being really loud or using it for horse-stalls or whatever, so I was pretty nervous buying it just for a kid's room... but chose to try anyway because I had 3 floor-stand fans break in the 2 years he's been alive, either from being tipped over by the kid (yikes!) or just breaking cuz they're garbage... and we don't have any place to put a fan that I don't worry what my son will do with it, other than high up on the wall. (I also installed an electrical outlet high on the wall to keep the kid from playing with the cord. The one place I think he should be able to play practically unsupervised is his own room. BUT, the cord was certainly long enough if you don't want to go to that effort.)Skipping to the end... It sure seems high quality and extremely heavy duty, but is definitely NOT too noisy or too strong for those of you who use a fan for sleeping. Our schedules are strange and we often need the kid to sleep when it's noisy, and it's perfect for that, even if we do tend to keep it on medium or low setting. I'll be getting another for our bedroom as soon as the cheapo box fan sitting on our dresser dies.Be warned, it doesn't come with the lag bolt you'll want for mounting it. Sorry I don't remember what size it was... but you will want to plan on putting a hefty lag bolt into a stud, since it is a nice solid unit, but one lag bolt is plenty. I have zero concerns about its stability where it is.

Tough little fan...great price, Air King quality
Air King is an industrial product and you often see them in places like warehouses at the trailer doors. They’ve a reputation for quality and I’ve witnessed 40 year old units still moving air away. The fans hold as a result of true craftsmanship, though says made in America I can’t vouch for the origin of the parts. That said, I was suspect given the price point of sub $90 as these are usually $200+, but then again it’s wee. It is in the garage, ceiling mounted, where the relatively new family gym is and a pretty low ceiling. The blade angle is aggressive and as a result this unit is the Little Fan that Could. Our garage is about 300 square feet and on medium it’s plenty of air movement. It comes with the safety cable, which is a nice touch. It does not come with mounting hardware.I’ve only one note, it’s meant for industrial use and as such mounting creativity is left to the consumer. Make sure you have the right mounts, recall physics plays a role, specifically you want a linear forged and not drop forged bolt and it should have high shear strength. While not likely, drop forge can break over time due to the torque exerted at startup whereas a linear forged will bend before breaking. Same goes with wrenches, wood, etc., grain direction matters.Summary: I would buy again, it is a great little fan, though bit of a fatty and tedious to mount, it’s just like what I was installing in warehouses 30 years ago. You won’t be disappointed.

Bought for bedroom whitenoise
I bought this for bedroom white mouse and it wasn’t quite loud enough, but if you want a fan that puts out, this works well. I did place a pillowcase up against the cage directly behind the blade, upper only - increased the sound 3-4 fold - so it does what I need it to do after adding the pillow case.
