Good oscilloscope at a good price
Being an amateur radio and electronics hobbyist, I needed an oscilloscope for various applications. Most of the DSO's currently on the market can be a bit expensive for someone who does not intend to use it for profit. This scope provides all or nearly all of the same features of oscilloscopes that have a price 10 times higher. It has also proven to be very accurate. I took it to work and benchmarked it against $4000 to $5000 "NIST" calibrated digital Phosphor storage oscilloscopes, and the results were extremely good, with very little variance in measured wave form characteristics. The controls are relatively intuitive and without reading the manual I had it set up in just a few minutes. Its light weight and compact size make it an easy fit on any work bench. I am very pleased with this unit and I would recommend it to anyone who needs an affordable oscilloscope.

garbage
The oscilloscope seems great so far.The EasyScope software, however, appears to be some sort of trial software that has expired. The software won't link with the oscilloscope and also won't read files from the oscilloscope.complete garbage, trigger is messed up, software out of date, no support. Cash down the drain. Avoid these scopes - they are GARBAGE

Professional review
I have not bought this scope but have often wondered how these cheap scopes work. Here is a review from a serious user in professional electronics magazine: http://edn.com/electronics-blogs/test-voices/4435528/The-scope-from-Hell-?_mc=NL_EDN_EDT_EDN_today_20141007&cid=NL_EDN_EDT_EDN_today_20141007&elq=fb8e557a19584a589b6bb46c22a1f14a&elqCampaignId=19546

Oscope works OK but...
The power cord caught fire in my lab while I was using it. It was plugged in, sitting idle, and smoke started billowing out from the back. Quickly realized it was the power cord, tried to unplug it but it burned my hand. I had to get a pair of rubber handled pliers to pull the plug out of the socket and stop the fire. Yikes!!Other than nearly burning our building down, it's a pretty amazing value. Functions flawlessly. I used it to characterize pulses from a digital output driving sinking solenoid valves. Discovered the hard way that the o'scope is internally grounded through the probe so if I connected the positive probe to the valve with current on one of the valve leads, the probe would cause the valve to open.Last comment... The instruction book stinks, it's terse and written in broken English.Despite my snarky remarks, the equivalent unit from Tektronics was something like $1200 so this is a good deal despite the issues.

Atten ADS1102CA Digital Storage Oscilloscope
Very satisified with the Oscilloscope. I suggest ordering a second set of probes because it is usefull for the trigger input.(Scope comes with two probes) Probes are available at Amazon. Depending on the version software you get for EasyScope, you may have a problem "connecting" to the scope. Note that EasyScope is a program that allows you to connect your scope to a pc. You can actually control the scope and copy waveforms and data to your pc. A newer version of software that contains updated drivers is available from Atten.eu The price is around $25.00
