This is not truly a power zoom lens, more of power assist. It also sticks at times while zooming. The lens remains open any time the camera is on even when you are just downloading files from the camera. You cannot put a protective lens over it either as there is no threading. If I hadn't been away on a trip when I tried it out I would have returned it, but missed the return window.

This lens gets the job done, but it is poorly designed. Mine received a tiny bump and no longer could telescope, which prevented its use and put it out of warranty. I would avoid it.

This lens actually performs much better than expected. I've been able to get done good close ups I didn't think would be possible. The colors are good, I haven't seen anything to unusual. The zoom ring is smooth and easy to control. One thing I don't like and it's my fault for not paying more attention when I bought it. There are no threads to put filters on with. Not a real big deal, but something I wish I would have noticed beforehand.

Bought the lens as replacement lens.

The previous 10-30mm lens for our old Nikon 1 became faulty. We replaced it with this one - an apparently later version. Same quality images but now contains a built in auto-lens cover as opposed to the old cap and this is much more convenient. Also more compact and makes the camera with this lens fitted more convent to store and carry.

Excellent lens with automatic zoom

Passt und funktioniert einwandfrei. Durch die genaue Beschreibung konnte ich die Kamera auf ein neueres Objektiv aufrüsten. Habe richtige Freude damit.
