Hard to light, no heat, no good.
I have been grilling for 10+ years learning good grilling habits from Alton Brown. I usually use Kingsford competition and no-name lump. I would really like to have a cleaner charcoal so I gave this a shot. "Burns, longer, hotter, cleaner." I used the recommended 22 coals for 4 - 6 people. It took three times to light using paper and vegetable oil, my normal way to start a grill. I even put some in the middle of the coals as recommended. I've never had this much trouble.I let it heat up (30 min) and start some mushrooms and onions on skewers before I get to the meat. I must have left those veggies on there for at least 20 minutes and they never seared and just barely got cooked enough to eat. I did not spread out the coals but had them on one side to condense the heat. I never got to the meat because there was just never enough heat to cook, let alone sear.Buyer beware. I will not buy again.

Burns long, but not as hot as normal charcoal
These are great for some long lasting added heat while smoking but do not seem as hot for normal grilling. We have an slightly larger than average grill and could use almost the whole box for just one meal.

The best option I have tried for low and slow
I own a Komodo Kamado ceramic smoker and have tried every kind of charcoal for bbqing. While there are better options for high temp cooking, this is the best I've tried for low and slow cooks.
