Sweet Potatoe 'Quale' Fries Here We Come! Cuts thru anything,You don't need to pre-cut! Yes, needs some obvious effort to pull.
We use this daily. We cut Sweet Potatoes (the reason we bought it) and giant potatoes. It cuts everything. YES, you are going to use your arms to do this. A medium sized child will not be able to cut due to their lack of strength. My 16 yr old can use it. So can my wife. Suction cups hold WELL. Just make sure your counter is not wet. Suction cups slide when they are wet. Had a small issue with the box not surviving well, but customer service was prompt and speedy to fix the problem, and did. Has so much power that an 'older' potato will flex as its initially cut. Once the cut begins, don't stop midway, just yank it thru and fry them up! (Use Olive Oil)

Suck it up buttercup!
This product is what it says it is. It is a "commercial" french fry cutter. It is "heavy duty." Being heavy duty means that the equipment will withstand the force required to press a solid object (the potato) against a set of stationary blades. The product itself works, dependent upon the user's strength to press the handle down forcing the potato through the grid of blades. Do you need to be quite strong to operate this device? Yes. If you want to use this on a sweet potato you need to use the largest blade set and the strongest person in the house. For all those reviewers that couldn't cut sweet potatoes on this...you're doing it wrong.

Changing blades is pretty easy, but changing the pushers requires a screwdriver
Definitely a quality product, however, I'm not so sure about the quality control at the factory and the packaging. When I opened the box I was surprised to find the blades and pushers just floating around in there unsecured. That's a lot of heavy metal to just be banging around inside the box. When I examined the contents the first thing I notices was that the 1/4 inch blade, the one I really wanted, had a stripped screw hole which holds one of the plates on. The plates hold the blades in place. The screw would not stay in. The second thing I noticed was that instead of the large wedge blade and pusher I got a second middle-sized fry blade and pusher, 3/8, I think. Changing blades is pretty easy, but changing the pushers requires a screwdriver, though it's only 2 screws and they are large enough that you won't lose them easily. Still, a bit of a hassle, but I'm not an engineer, so I don't know that I could do any better with the design if I were. In fact I would expect to have issues aligning the blades with the pushers so that they pusher "pins" go through the holes, but it works perfectly every time without ever hitting so I'm betting the mechanical engineers who designed it know something I don't about making something like this work flawlessly every time. I called the company, explained the problems and in under 5 minutes, with absolutely zero hassle, I had a replacement for the broken blade and the missing blade and pusher coming. This company is all about customer service. I feel kind of bad giving only a 4 star rating, but can't see giving a 5 star rating when it arrived with wrong and broken parts. Broken, I can see. Especially with the blades unsecured in the box. Things happen. But a wrong part, that's a little harder to accept as it falls under the category of quality control. This is one of the more expensive units I looked at. I paid more because I expected more. A broken part AND a wrong part, though, I just can't give 5 stars after that. But this company earned every one of the stars I did give and then some.

You'll be a fry master!
Well, making fries in seconds instead of minutes made me giggle with joy! I've used it every time I've cooked since receipt! Easy to assemble, disassemble, switch cutters, and clean. Baked on enamel finish denotes its high quality.

Bad for Sweet Potatoes!
It does not slice sweet potatoes AT ALL. The suction cups also don't work well on tile counter tops. Maybe it works well for white potatoes only.
