I work in the garment industry and do garment technical development for a global surf company. We work with Europe, Japan, China and Australia, so converting imperial spec measurements to metric is essential to the job. I've been using the Calculated Industries 8025 Ultra Measure Master as my go to to help convert spec measurements accurately. I've gone through 2 in the past 10 years and buying 2 more as gifts, that's how much I like this calculator. Note that it is a perfect size, about the size of a cell phone, so easy to hold in the palm of your hand.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I purchased one of the earliest Calculated Industries architectural calculators, right after I passed the NCARB (national licensing exam) the first time. That was back during the Bronze Age. LOL Believe or not after all those many decades, all the buttons still worked, but the numbers have worn off. It is mind boggling how much use that calculator endured. HOWEVER, this new model has all the features I need because nowadays, I have many international contacts and need to convert back and forth from Metric to Imperial units. I love the new calculator. Will return for a replacement for it in 40 years.

Perfect for work but liked the older version better

Calculated makes some calculators that will do more calculations, but they don't make one that is easier to use. I don't use this every day, so it's a huge plus that I can just pick this up and do what I need to do. If you need to calculate nano-whatever or drops, there's a different calculator for you, but if you want to work with distance, weight and volume, this one is a no-brainer, in both senses of that phrase. This was a great purchase.

It is a good calculator and the conversion is good because of the nuts that want to use metric in this country.

Its a great calculator for beginners, school or college use..My needs are slightly bigger than what this one does for me..I hope Calculated Ind. can do some major improvements in their future design..

This makes the 2nd model 8025 calculators I have purchased. I'm not sure how long my first one lasted (at least 5 - 7 years). I used it so much I eventually broke the hinged cover on it. It finally gave out on me last week. This calculator does it all, from the paperless tape function (it remembers your past 20 entries or calculations) to the ease with averages, to the very easy way it allows you to convert various measurements.I placed my order Tuesday 2/21/2012, they promised delivery around the 24th - the 25th, I received it today 2/23/2012, perfect timing.This is the only calculator I will ever buy. Truly outstanding.

I do architectural and industrial design work in both the USA and Spain. Although I can no longer think in inch fractions, inches and feet, I still need the converter in the USA to convert the Imperial nonsense into metric. I have a previous model of this calculator which I bought 12 years ago, which works perfectly, but which I now leave in Spain to prevent luggage clutter. The only thing I wish the unit had is a function to convert miles per US gallon to kilometers per liter, so I could easily check my gas consumption in Europe.
