Good Personal Home Shredder
This is a good personal home shredder. The key feature making it good is the separate wire metal basket, which has a metal tab for the safety switch which won't wear down over time as the plastic tabs tend to. Also since the shredder sits on top of the basket, it's much easier to empty cleanly, unlike those with pull out drawers that leave excess shredding everywhere. On the downside, forget the page rating, shreding more than two pages at a time will over tax the unit. Also never try to shred a credit card despite the stated capability. If it jams, which is highly likely, and you use reverse, the top of the card gets trapped inside the upper case lid, which is not engineered to be removable regardless of your mechanical skills. You'll wind up buying a second one like me because of the positives and using scissors for any credit cards.

Feels kind of Fragile
Its a little top-heavy and the paper to be shredded needs to be placed exactly in the feeder unlike my previous one (different make) where exactness was not necessary. Kind of strains with 5 sheets and I dont think a credit card wouldnt put a big strain on it. I'll use it for the 30 days and see what developes.

Fellowes Cross Cut Shredder
I LOVE this shredder! I had this EXACT same shredder for 8 years before it died on me & I used it every day, a lot & had a few old boxes of receipts, records, etc. from an old business that I also shredded through this machine & it never failed on me until after 8 years so I definitely got my money's worth & I paid A LOT more than I did this time. When I saw it on sale & it was the last one in stock I JUMPED at the chance to purchase a new one. I have been looking for a new shredder for about 4 months now. I bought an Aurora from here awhile back & had to return it, the pieces didn't shred small enough, you could still see all the information & it jammed up after about 3-4 days. I have had this about a month now & have had no problems. Shreds tiny pieces, cannot see any information left. Although it does say shreds Credit Cards, I have yet to find any machine other than the heavy duty professional office machines that do this easily. It will shred the card, however, it's very slow going & hard & when it's done, you still need to cut up the card. Other than that I have NO COMPLAINTS!!! I would go with a Fellowes any day over any other brand! They are more expensive but when you catch them on sale you can't go wrong! I caught this on sale at half off. Original price was $74.95 so you can see why I say if you catch a sale it's well worth it. If you need real heavy duty other than for everyday mail & junk stuff I would recommend going with a bigger machine, but for everyday personal use this machine is perfect!! If they had another one I would grab it & just keep it on hand for when I need it years down the road as I am sure they will no longer make this model. Thank You =o)

Wonderful Inexpensive Shredder
This is my second shredder of this brand. I liked the first one so well I bought another one exactly like it. I had my first for five years and never had any trouble until I put something in it that looked fine but ended up having something stuck maybe in the binding that was a heavy plastic that I didn't notice and it stuck in the corner of the blades and caused it to quit shredding. It would reverse but not shred. I tried to get help to see if I could get it repaired but needed a shredder "now" so decided to buy a new one and try and get the old one repaired later. The new one is fine. I called customer service about the old one and got a nasty lady who treated me with no respect. She asked me how many sheets I was trying to shred at once. I said one and she tried to tell me it wouldn't work with just one sheet. She doesn't know what she is talking about (even though she told me she was the supervisor). It shreds everything perfectly one sheet or more. I never put more than five sheets but the instructions say it will shred 1-7 pages. This is excellent for home use. Looks nice and is made of quality materials. One problem I was told you can't buy replacement parts to repair it. However I think if the person owning it has any "smarts" at all they could figure out how to repair gears etc. themselves. Too bad they are phasing out this item as it was fine the way it was.

Terrible!
This is the second shredder of the exact model that I have gotten, thinking the first may have been defective. Not the case. It lasted just over a year with under below moderate conditions. I even bought some of the lubricant and that did nothing. So that said, it does the job for a short time, but longevity is not going to happen. Stay away from this shredder!

good product and good price
It's compact and fits nicely under an entry table (I have a small apt). It shreds paper and credit cards easily and leaves short bits of confetti (vs long ones). I also like that it has a sensor so you can leave the machine on with out it running until you put your paper past the sensor. I like shredding things like bank receipts which makes that handy.I had a bunch of paper to shred and was able to get it done pretty quickly with a short break in-between because the machine got too hot, but I let it cool down and finished the job just fine. All in all, I'd say it's a keeper. :)

Fellowes Powershred P70CM Shredder
As with previous Fellowes products our household has owned, this seems to be of good quality. It runs fairly quietly and does a pretty good shredding job. 7 sheets at a time sometimes seems like too much for machine to handle, though, so I try to feed less in at a time, particularly if sheets are thicker.

Great entry-level shredder for everyday tasks
Works great. Shreds even up to 10 sheets of paper no problem, though I wouldn't make that a regular thing (there's another Fellowes model for that and CDs/credit cards). Great starter shredder for the individual who has no need for all those bank statements even though you switched your account to virtual statements several times (argh)!

shredder replaced with same.
I have been using this shredder for a number if years. It was used as a personal use shredder. It performed well when I had a need to shred private documents when used to minimize outdated files it worked as advertised and I was completely satisfied with the product. However as time progressed the shredder started to slip and skip , the culprit was the small plastic gears that drove the cutter blades. These small drive gears were not available to purchase from Fellows.Because of the length of time and usage that I had the item, I felt that I received very dependable service from the shredder. As a result I felt that I had no complaints with the item. I replaced the item with the same catalogued item.

Robust unit but a little louder than before
This is my second one. The first one worked so well, that when I accidentally broke it shredding CDs, I wanted the same unit again. The second (this) purchased unit works just as well and I am equally satisfied although it is much louder than the first one.I would recommend this to any potential buyers.

Excellent shredder.
I am happy with the Fellowes P70CM shredder. It works extremely well and I like the mesh bin. But the two-page manual that came with it lacks instruction as to how to get the shredder to actually run. Nowhere does it tells you that the shredder head has to connect with a small trigger inside the bin in order to get the shredder to run. I had to phone technical support to find that out.

it requires st least a half hour to cool down and continue
Bin is smaller than I expected. Shreds effectively for two to three sheets ... Labors if more than three are inserted . after filling thee bins, it requires st least a half hour to cool down and continue.
