It weighs about 12-13 pounds (I just weighed it on my bathroom scale :)

There is a one year warranty on the Sanitaire SC679 vacuum.

Q: Can I use disposable bags inside the cloth bag on this machine?

Actually you can. My local vacuum store converted it for me. They put on a new bag and I use paper disposable Eureka bags. MUCH better than shake out.
