This is fantastic on all types of meat!

For my taste, "Oh Canada" seasoning is way too heavy on salt. You can fix this, you just need to rub off the excess before you cook. Normally I like to really massage the seasoning into the steak, and with this, you can quickly turn a steak into a salt brick. I also find this blend isn't peppery enough for my taste and for steak especially - maybe that's also to do with the high salt ratio overriding the flavors.But for chicken and pork it's a different story. I find "Oh Canada" works especially well with these meats because - once you brush off the excess salt - you're left with the perfect light flavoring. This seasoning would also be great for fish for the same reason.So for my personal taste, I wish they'd up the non-salt components. Overall I love the company's insistence on top ingredients, and I fully support their mission. If they'd fix the salt ratio I'd give them a 5/5, but as is, I'm limited it to a 4/5. A lot of people will prefer McCormick's Montreal seasoning because it is better balanced.

This is perfectly fine seasoning but there is an issue caused by the holes size in the container lid. When you shake the salt and finely ground ingredients come out but the larger stuff, especially the pepper flake, stays trapped in container. This throws off the intended mix. Either bigger holes in shaker or grind on the pepper flake and fennel seed more.

Gotten this spice in a local store, then they stopped carrying it. Best stuff for any meat or vegetable

I received a container of this for Christmas, used it up and had to order another. Amazing on steaks! Highly recommend.

While I ike the moderate zip, it added WAY too much saltiness to an otherwise great steak. I'll try using less rub next time but I used the same amount I always use with my other spices. I'll try less next time.Unfortunately we bought the large container - I noticed when it arrived that the contents seemed to not have been blended well. I shook and rotated the container and tried to get it to mix. I'm wondering if it was improperly mixed at the factory or if this batch simply has too much salt in it?

Too salty and the other ingredient’s flavours don’t come through.

Lots of flavour, but make quite salty

My go-to for all things meat. Grilled, fried, roasted, poached - excellent taste, easy to apply - simply delicious.

I would not say this is a Montreal steak spice. To me this is what I would expect if I bought a random American steak spice. Not my cup of tea. Sorry.

A little spicy, but not to bad. A very nice seasoning for every protein.
