I am a woodworker and I make a lot of jewelry boxes and keepsake boxes. So I run into situations where I need to install small hinges. Some of these hinges require #3 screws. I have similar bits for larger sized wood screws. I needed a good way to center up #3 screws and this bit does a good job of that. I mount this bit in my smaller drill press and that ensures that the pilot hole is perpendicular to the wood surface. This bit works well and does the job that it was intended to do.

I've used it for installing #4 screws in hinges and it's worked well. It's a good product sold at a fair price.

The original, the best. Leave those cheapie imports behind. I ruined an expensive template with those. Vix is the best.

This bit is a high quality domestically manufactured tool. It performs as advertised. I purchased this one to add to a selection of other bits made by the same manufacturer. I lacked this smaller size and wanted the capability. Those bits have served me well for years. This bit is every bit as good as those.

the hype is real. actual vix brand bits are worth it. think small screws, expensive european hinges. you dont have time to stop making money. great return action and response. no clogs.
