I got one of these over 20 years ago at an exhibition and I was surprised at how well it worked. It looks fairly cheap but it was one of the best apple peelers I have ever used. I did use it for carrots and other fruit but not as much as for apples. Unfortunately I misplaced it and any other ones I purchased was never as good and was quickly forgotten in the bottom of a kitchen drawer. It never occurred to me until I was getting back into eating healthy (fruits/apples) that I thought about this peeler and searched to see if I could get another one. Lo and behold there it was on Amazon so I ordered 2 of them so I would have one as a spare.I would show coworkers and quite a few also remember them and how good they are.I am sure there are ones out there that work just as well but the price of this one and how well it works can't be beat in my books.

I bought an original Zena peeler in 2016, which lasted until just recently. It was extremely sharp and held its edge for 5 years. Had no issues peeling sweet potato skin (which is quite tough). The new one I just bought is completely different. This blade is extremely dull, even brand new out of the package - it couldn't even come close to peeling a sweet potato. I guess this one will go in the trash, where it belongs.

I actually have two of these all ready! I sister in law came over to help prep for Easter and raved about how great they were, so I bought her two. They are the easiest vegetable peeler to use!

I have had one of these peelers for more than 10 years now. My brother brought it back from Switzerland for me. They peel virtually everything. I regularly use it for carrots, apples, and potatoes. It also works well for tougher skinned vegetables like butternut squash. Most peelers can't handle a butternut squash, but the carbon steel blade of these works very well, and they are constructed to be sturdy enough to handle the job. I bought new ones so that I had a backup for my old one and I wanted one for my neighbor because she didn't have anything that would peel a butternut squash.The only negative of this peeler is that you should only hand wash it and dry the blade off soon after washing. Leaving the blade wet will cause it to rust, which can be cleaned off with a scouring pad if necessary. With the proper care this peeler will last many years.

Received them pretty fast. I purchased 2. What I like about this peeler is the part you can dig out potato eyes. I lost my old potato peeler which was similar to these.My old one was harder metal and sharper. These don’t peel as well. I have plastic ones that peel better.

This looked just like an old peeler I had that had finally broken. Well, when I got it the blade was positioned really oddly and didn't swivel or move at all. Upon peeling the 2nd potato the whole blade broke off. GREAT. Using a paring knife to continue peeling my potatoes was a real chore with my arthritis and right shoulder that's in need of a replacement. It was a piece of crap.

I should have read the reviews first... I didn't even get to use it because I wanted to wash it first. With kids, work and school I simply don't have the time to do a lot of tasks when I have a machine that will do it for me. I threw it in with the dishes because I wanted to sanitize it before using it for the first time. Came out with obvious rusting all over the blade, even cracked the blade a bit. Pretty disappointing. I know it's a quality product and can cut like no other but honestly I wish a warning not to clean it in a dishwasher was a little more obvious.

This rex peeler is awesome and so is the seller. I bought 3 at first then later the same day I decided to order 3 more, just in case they were really as good as many of the reviewers have been saying. The first set of 3 arrived about a week later and 2 days later still nothing on the second set of 3 that I ordered, so I decided to contact seller and make sure they realized I ordered twice in the same day and the same amount. They contacted me and assured me they would check into it. The following day the second set arrived and I got on here right away to let seller know , but he had already shipped out three more. So when those 3 arrived I wanted to pay for them, and I am still going to see if I can some how pay for them, but that was so awesome that he just mailed more and did not even wait a few extra days to see if the other ones would arrive.With so many dishonest people out there today, it is good to see there are still honest ones out there as well. I wish I knew how to put little smiley face on here.The peelers are so easy to use, they just glide right over the top of the potato or carrot without wasteing any of the potato or carrot. I have given some of the peelers away. I have shouwed these to some people they could not get how easy they are to use. If you suffer from hand problems and still have or want to peel your own potatoes, well this peeler is for you.At this price you can't go wrong, even shipping is really cheap, they give discount on shipping if you buy more than one, I ordered 3 and shipping was $3. so it worked out to be $1. for shipping for each knife WOW.I have had mine now for about 2 months. People say do not put them in to dish washer, oooops, I have a couple times now and they are still in perfect condition. I do how ever mostly just rinse it off, dry it and put it away as soon as I am done using it.

Does the vegetables in no time,got a handy little reemer on the side fo getting eyes out of potatoes.

I bought a few of these peelers several years ago at the CNE in Toronto. They were the absolute best. But over the years, the blades have become a bit rusted and probably not as sharp as they once were. I have bought others that look the same in appearance but were definitely not the same in quality (handles would bend and get twisted out of shape).This is the best and absolute authentic original peeler. Quality plus. Highly recommended.
