This is so far the best water proofing membrane I used. Really love it. Very easy to install just need brush and roller. If you got your hands dirty just wash with the water very and I mean very easy to clean. Very nice coverage. I used three coats on the bathroom shower area with size 3x5 and it was enough for to bathrooms. Stick very well after drying, looks like you installed a rubber mat. And tile mortar grabs really hard. Great product again. Maybe cost more but worth every penny.

Has a little thicker consistency, making it easier to work with. Covers well and leaves a nice covering. Would recommend.

Heard about this on You Tube, watching the Tile Coach. Put it over Schluter Kerdi membrane for an extra layer of waterproofing before tiling my new shower. Very easily applied with 2 layers’ from a single gallon can. Foolproof!

I love fluid applied waterproofing as you can build up a seamless thickness of material that will stop water penetration. Hydroban is a wonderfully, workable material that will seamlessly seal your walls, floors, showers, and tub decks. It is heavy and thick, yet brushes and rollers onto tile board and mortar surfaces with ease. Apply correctly, and you’ll never have a leak ... ever.

It does seem like a good product. I can't say anything on why it is better than red guard, but I can say that while it appears to dry fast, give it a lot more time. I waited about four hours after the last coat seemed dry before doing the leak test (documentation says you can do it after two hours) and the material bubbled a little. If you set tile on the dry surface, it can be tacky enough to grab for a few days, even though it feels dry and tack free to your hand.So give it a lot more time than the directions say.

I'm building a 3x4x8 shower in my basement. I used the Laticrete pre-formed tileable shower pan/curb (which are made of a dense foam), along with one of their wall inserts.This stuff goes on great. Simply put in a paint pan. Use a brush for the corner areas then use a roller for the rest. Goes on like a thick paint. You don't even have to stir it! Super easy to apply.I used a little over 1 gallon to do my shower. It does need two, decently thick coats. I did not need to paint the floor/curb/wall insert as they already come pre-coated in this stuff, but did a coat on the floor anyway to fix any nicks along the way.The first coat you can still see through in spots. The 2nd coat (which I did 2 hours later) really dried to a very uniform setup.For the cost and ease of use, I can't imagine using some of the other products out there. This works, just use it and be done!

I needed the product for water proofing and was planning to order it. TSD had reduced the price at a $5.00 off of the usual price, so I ordered it. Now I see their price for the product is back to the amount original price. The product was well packed into leak proof material, shipped, arrived in a cardboard box with no damage to the box. Upon opening the box, I found leaking liquid hydro ban coating the bucket and all over the plastic packing material. Found huge crack on the bottom of the hydro ban bucket. I am going to use the product, empty it, and store it into another empty bucket because I don't need the entire gallon for my purposes. Find another distributor for hydro ban, the product is great, but the distributor is can not be trusted. UPDATE ! THERE IS 8 OTHER REVIEWS FOR THE PRODUCT LEAKED INTO THE BOX, NOT INCLUDING MINE. BOX WAS NOT DAMAGED, THE BUCKET IS !!!! ANOTHER UPDATE TSD I DECIDED TO RETURN THE PRODUCT AFTER REVIEWS OF EIGHT OTHER CUSTOMERS RECEIVING LEAKING PRODUCTS AS WELL. A tree branch fell and penetrated my standing seam metal roof. The quotes i got back were 15-25k to fix the roof, as they wanted to replace entire sections for two small 2-3 inch holes. I went up with a ladder, laticrete and a waterproof membrane and applied two layers under the hole about 2-3 inches outward of under the hole, flattened the broken metal on top, and did the same on top of the hole. the result after brushing on is a nearly flat, rock-like impenetrable grey surface on my metal roof where the holes were. Have had several downpours with no issues. The color is off so its visable, but i plan on color matching the paint soon enough and i will be surprised if its visable. Cannot recommend this stuff enough, its amazing technology.
