Perfect beginner tap show, velcro closure is fantastic
PROs:• velcro closure makes it easy for toddler to take off and put on• beautiful glossy, black finishCONs:• sizing is a tad small (go up a half size, maybe even full size if child has wider feet)My 4-year-old daughter just started dance classes and after researching many different brands of tap shoes, we decided on this pair. My average-size 4-year-old wears a size 8 street shoe (normal width) and we went a half size up with these to 8.5 and they fit great with a tad bit of room to grow (so I hope she can wear these this entire dance season). The glossy black finish is beautiful, overall this seems to be a high quality shoe, and so far no scuffing or blemishes even though my daughter isn't exactly careful with these during dance class. What makes this shoe stand out from the rest though, is the velcro strap — this way my daughter can easily put these on herself when they change from ballet slippers to tap shoes during class (no straps to tie or elastic to squeeze through). In case it's helpful, here are the other dance outfit components we purchased — we are very happy with all of these:Stelle Girls' Cute Tutu Dance Dress Ballet Leotard Dress (S, White)Bloch Dance Bunnyhop Slipper Ballet Flat (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid), Pink, 9 C US Little KidJacques Moret Girls' Little Girls' Dance Basic Footed Tight, Black, Small

Great for beginners!
Great tap shoe for our daughters beginning tap class! Nothing fancy but she can put them on herself so that is a plus. I urge parents who are buying tap shoes for beginning tap classes to buy Velcro. Do NOT buy ties...the teacher does not have time to interrupt class over and over to re-tie your childs tap shoes!

Tap shoes that don't really tap
My toddler started a tap dance class and of course needed the appropriate shoes. Unsure if she'd like it or not, my goal was to purchase the least expensive ones possible. I found these and all seemed well--until it came time to tap. Apparently, the big difference in tap shoe quality is how well they tap-you know, the entire point of the shoe itself. These make about the same amount of noise as my high heels do. That really takes away from the fun a toddler might have in a tap class when there's little tap to be had. My daughter didn't love tap, so on the plus side I didn't mind since I hadn't invested a ton in the shoes. On the minus side, if she had had better shoes perhaps she would have liked it more...? I guess we'll never know.

Cute shoes with good Velcro!
They do not stretch by any means but the sizing was accurate for us. Daughter just outgrew her size 7 shoes so we went with 8 regular and they fit her nicely. One warning they are super slippery. When she walks fast she slips every time- user error of my 3 yo-- not any fault of the shoes. The Velcro strip is long so as she grows we may get some play there. We bought a different brand last time and he Velcro kept popping open; I don't see that happening with these.

My daughter has been a size 9, so I ...
My daughter has been a size 9, so I got a size 9 1/2 so there was room to grow. There is a bit more room than I was expecting, but otherwise the shoe was exactly what I was looking for. She can put them on herself with the Velcro.

Great shoe!
A review by my 4 year old from the first tome she put them on: "Oh they look pretty on me! Oh Dad, feel how soft they are inside! Oh I love the velcro, now I can put them on by myself!" This is my daughters third pair of tap shoes and she just loves them. I got a half size up and they fit great. They are very pretty looking and after her class today sge commented again at how soft and comfortable they are inside the shoe. I will be buying these again when she out grows these.

Slightly narrow, but serves the purpose.
These seem to serve the purpose, but seem a little narrow. Definitely size up one to two sizes. Not sure if they'd stretch out as my little one hasn't started her dance classes yet. Hopefully they hold up. It looked like the ones I got could have been a return. The patent was fine, but the taps seems a little scratched up. Not sure how the seller can advertise as new & yet send you something used??

Good tap shoes
I got these for my daughter who was starting a tap class. Fit corresponded well with street shoe size. She wears a 9/10 in toddlers and I got a 10, so there would be a little room to grow. She says they are comfortable and wears them even when she's not in class. Quality was good for the price and with the velcro straps, it's easy for her to put them on/take off herself.
