AlmaySmart Shade Anti Aging Concealer, Medium, 0.37-Ounce

I like the blend to natural skin color, but the light to medium was way to light for me

I've tried several concealers around my eyes. I first tired the neutrogena 3-in-1. It was a great color and went on smoothly, but it soaked in, or worse, settled in the crease. I tried "setting" it with neutrogena loose powder. That helped some, but I still had to smooth out the crease a couple times a day, and by the end of the day most of the coverage effect was gone. I put up with this for several years because the effect was OK, and I didn't need more coverage. However, a few years' age made the color around my eyes darker and I needed something more. I then "upgraded" to Paula Dorf Magic Stick. That wasn't the best, either. At about 6 x the cost of the neutrogena I expected more, but it also ran into the crease, especially if I used a moisturizer sooner than 20 minutes before applying. I don't know about most people, but I can't wait that long every morning between eye makeup steps. I finally resorted to a multi-step process of the neutrogena 3-in-1 (had a bunch and didn't want to waste it) as a base coat, the Paula Dorf for better color and coverage, and finally a very light dusting of the neutrogena loose powder to set the whole mess. The combination was mostly effective, providing I timed it well, but the process got old very quickly so I went shopping again. The first time I bought the Almay Smart Shade I got the Light Medium. That was entirely the wrong color for me as it turned orangeish on me. I had to put it on very lightly to get a little coverage without the color being too obvious. I ended up using the neutrogena loose powder as an eye shadow to lighten my lids a bit more. I used the Light Medium color for about three weeks to determine if I liked the product, other than the color. It went on smoothly, provided uniform coverage, and stayed out of the crease better than anything I have tried. I ended up buying the Light color and it is the right shade for me. I find it works best if I apply it first, and then do a few other makeup steps (blush, brow powder, etc.) before gently smoothing the concealer one more time. I still use the neutrogena loose powder on my lids simply because I like the final color the best, plus the matte finish looks a little more finished without having to apply eye shadow. A little bit of this product goes a long ways, so use it very sparingly. It warms up and changes to its final shade on the first eye before you've finished the second. I nearly gave this four stars, but after consideration, I settled on five because the price, coverage and wearability are the best I've found after lots of (money-wasting) experimenting.

I have used this for years and it has always beat out any other brands on the market. Price is nice too.

I have tried many different brand concealers and none of them worked for me. I have fine lines under my eyes so the makeup would sit on top of my lines making it look horrible. Hard to find the right color cuz I'm very light skin. Found this at the store a couple of years ago and it's the only one I use since. This is great. I love the fact that it bonds to you your natural skin color on contact. It's anti aging too so it doesn't sit on my eye wrinkles. But the most awesone thing about it is water proof. Yes! Went to a water park wearing it and it did not budge at all. Stayed on flawlessly. Love it!!! It's very hard to find since it's discontinued. So I try to get my hands on as many as I can. I highly recommend it.

This stuff is amazing. I was extremely skeptical about the whole "smart shade technology" schtick and was a bit concerned that I would come out looking like I'd been striped up to play football, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they mean what they say -- this concealer honest to goodness blended into my pale/splotchy/red/white face absolutely everywhere, left me with a perfectly even tone, covered my dark eye circles and the really red spots around my nose and mouth. I'm just sad that I can't find this particular shade in the anti-aging formula anymore on Amazon! I recently ordered it in the regular formula, and it's nice, just not as silkily moisturizing. (Disclaimer: product did not make me look noticeably younger, nor slow any signs of aging that I can tell, but like I said, had excellent moisturizing properties).

I use this product as my foundation. It's more like a BB or CC cream than a concealer. Very light, but the coverage is great. People don't think I'm wearing foundation at all. Very natural look. And it really does match my skin color. Excellent product!

A little bit is all I need to cover the reddish areas and dark spots under the eyes. (I usually have to use 2 different colors - greenish for my red spots and pinky-white for under eyes!) My skin color is between fair and medium. I purchased the "medium" color concealer comes out a greyish color and changes as blended onto skin. I have oily skin and was surprised that being so lightweight, it covers great and lasts all day. After using it for several weeks the Anti Aging promise has not halted my age progression, but at least I won't be creating any more worry lines concerning myself with how my make-up looks!

I have been using Almay Smart Shade Anti-Aging Concealer for years. Most people do not know that Almay has stopped making and shipping new batches of this product to brick & mortar stores. Whenever I find existing unopened packages of the Medium online, I snap them up. It is light-weight, but covers. It appears to be too pale at first, but soon adjusts to the skin tone. A very little covers A LOT of area. I will be sad when I can no longer find this product

Really covers my circles and I have pretty bad dark circles. Although the colour is a little dark for me even though my skin is of the medium range of tones its still a little dark but once I've got my foundation on top you can't even tell once it's all blended. Lasts all day and you only need a tiny bit. Was on the hunt for my holy grail concealer as my under eyes are quite bad and haven't found a concealer that's of a good price aswell as being able to cover. If I don't wear foundation I just pop a bit of my maybelline fitme concealer which is the exact same shade as my skin tone to blend in the almay one so it doesn't look so dark. Found my go to concealer. Great price. Arrived within a few days. Love love love

I like this concealer.good coverage. Leaves my skin looking smooth and healthy. Good product. Not expensive either. Good for older skin
