This aftermarket bulb was terrible! It is not manufactured to be identical to the OEM bulb. In fact after one week of operation, guests staying at my home called me at work, and told me they smelled something burning. The bulb got so hot (after 2 hours of operation) it literally melted the circuit card below the bulb, melting it down.This bulb after one week "KILLED" my TV and nearly burnt my house down. Do Not Buy THIS bulb, unless you are looking to kill your TV or burn down your house!

Not the same quality as OEM, did not fit
The lamp was advertised to fit for a BP96-00608A-P. I pulled out the lamp from my TV, which has the lamp code BP96-00608A(P) on a sticker on both the lamp and TV. The lamp that was sent did not fit (it would not go in all the way). After carefully looking at it, I also noticed that the opening for the cooling fan on the rear was in a different place. Additionally, the original OEM lamp has a metal back plate, whereas this is one all plastic.

I orders this to replace the bulb in a projection TV that we were given for free. The bulb has held up well and gives a really good picture. I have found no evidence of poor quality and have no reason to believe it will not last an appropriate amount of time.

Another reviewer mentioned that the unit would not slide in all the way. I experienced this. The unit stopped well short of being home because the electrical connector is loose and does not properly orient to the female connector of the tv. I was able to overcome this by using the wires to point the connector so it would line up. This permitted installation but there was a gap at the far end where light leaks out illuminating the tv interior. The lamp itself is a smaller diameter than the OE (I considered swapping the new lamp into the old housing but that won't work). I did not find the new lamp to be all that much brighter than the OEM bulb with 9000 hours on it.
