Some of my observations so far, but I've only installed the new upper and lower hood a few weeks ago and haven't really gotten into lawn tractor season yet.These pieces aren't as thick as their OEM counterparts. I've read comments about how fragile they are, and that's valid to a point. You're paying less than half the cost of OEM replacement parts, so it's probably not reasonable to expect the same thing for less than half the cost. That said, these parts gain rigidity and seem less fragile once they are assembled (together and attached to the tractor).I did have an issue related to this, which is my biggest negative. These parts were shipped in a big rectangular box with only a single layer of bubble wrap (like a really big bubble wrap baggie) for protection. Given how we've all seen videos of "Delivery Drivers Gone Wild!!", that's asking for trouble. To their credit, though, Flip resolved my issue quickly and fairly.The assembly was no problem at all. The two pieces fit together perfectly and that assembly connected to the original front bumper just as well as the old original hood did. The shape of the new parts look exactly the same as the original, so the fit to the tractor when 'snapping' the hood closed works just like the original.My only remaining task for this is to figure out how to remove the decals from the original hood so that the tractor doesn't look so boring. That's a lot of John Deere Green to look at with nothing to break it up!

Used to replace a cracked and broken hood. It is made of plastic like the original, but feels like the plastic is a little bit thinner. Color is similar to the original.

Nothing wrong with the quality of this hood and happy I bought this. Looks great, functions well. The only downside is I wish the rest of my mower looked as good as the new hood. Be aware it does not come with any hardware but I simply used the bolts and such from the old hood. Took just a few minutes to install. It has no JD decals but aftermarket decals can be bought here on Amazon for much less that OEM decals. Make the purchase and you won't be sorry.

Mower is 20 years old and still running great, however, exterior needed replacing. Perfect fit, exactly as described. Could not be more please.

Easier to install than you’d think. Looks great just know you need to buy the hinge bushing kit separately. Plus all of the hardware was from the older hood unit. This did not include any nuts and bolts

Fits like a glove on our John Deere mower. The original was busted up and duct taped for years. Just wish it came with some JD stickers. All in all, it's just fine.
