blurry vision
had one of those mirrors a few years ago , I was very happy with it , you could make out what was behind you , unfortunately one day my bike fell and the mirror cracked so I immediately ordered a new one recently as a replacement , vision was blurry and hard to tell what was behind you ,because I threw away the package i was unable to return it and now I am back using my old mirror with the crack in it with clearer vision than my new one , I know of 3 people who bought this mirror because of my recommendation on the old mirror , now I regret doing that , perhaps the new mirror is concave for wider vision and the old one isn't but way better

Perfect for my needs, but probably not the best for riding in heavy traffic
For me this was the perfect solution to my problem. I ride mountain bikes mostly off road, but I needed a mirror I could mount easily when I'm riding on local streets. I didn't want a helmet or eyeglass mounted mirror because I don't want anything that's potentially sharp so close to my eye in case of an accident, but I also didn't want to be continually installing and uninstalling bar-end mirrors. This fits my needs perfectly. It attaches and detaches in seconds with a Velcro strap and it's easily adjusted while riding. If you don't wear gloves, the Velcro could be annoying, but with gloves I don't feel the Velcro at all. I do feel it with my finger tips on the back side of the grip. On long rides this might be annoying, but the only long rides I do are off road where I don't use a mirror. The mirror is somewhat small, but does the job. When riding on the road, I'm no longer continually turning to look behind me. I feel much safer. This mirror has the same drawback as any mirror that's mounted on the handlebars - you will have to readjust it whenever your sitting position changes. When I'm climbing a long hill I need it adjusted differently than when I'm cruising neighborhood streets. Fortunately it's very quick and easy to adjust. If you ride in traffic, then a helmet or eyeglass mounted mirror will probably be preferable to this, or a larger mirror mounted on the handlebars, but for occasional use and quick removal and installation, this one is perfect.I've only used it for three rides. If any problems develop over time, I'll update this review.

Great mirror
Really easy to mount and dismount, just fasten a velcro strip. Keeps in place, at least in city streets with occasional bumps.Great visibility and easy to adjust.Cons:It adds about 5 inches to your handlebar, it can be inconvenient when going through doors or narrow spaces.Easy to dismount comes with a trade off, if you don't want it to be stolen you should dismount it.The velcro strip thickens part of the handlebar grip, so when you grab it it isn't entirely comfortable.

Does everything it's supposed to.
Just took a 30 minute ride and it worked perfectly. Didn't change as I rode, stayed where I wanted it and gives a good view of what's coming behind me.Now this was a road ride on a hybrid bike, so if you're a mountain biker your results might vary, but I don't think it would be a problem.Takes up a little room on the end of the handlebar, but it wasn't obtrusive during the ride. And I much prefer not having to cut off the end of the handgrips to install this mirror. It can be moved from bike to bike with ease, but I think I'll just buy another.

Not BMW quality but gets you there
Just installed tried out during todays 1-hour ride on two-lane country road....had no problems.. Went from pavement to a stretch that was being repaved & in rough stage. View was good enough for me and, once adjusted cerrectly, did not have to readjust. Actually quite surprised, it isn't a BMW mirror, which I don't think exists...more along Target lines, but works, velcro is good

Better than what I was using
It is very unnerving to have a car blow by you without warning. Thus a need for a rearview mirror. I use the Blackburn Mountain Mirror on my "Specialized Allez" road bike. I have tried a couple already. I tried the mirror that attaches to my helmet and a mirror that attaches to the end of my "drop bar" style handlebar. I found both to be a little too small and difficult to adjust.I do find it necessary to adjust the Blackburn each time I jump on my bike, but that is a much easier task than what I was used to doing with the last two systems.

Has Saved My Life A Number of Times
The title says it all. It is a perfect rear view mirror that lets me monitor oncoming traffic coming up from behind. Don't understand the negative comments. It's a great rearview mirror. Enough said.

VISION/VIEW LOOKS LIKE A FUN HOUSE MIRROR
I had 2 Blackburn Mountain Bike mirrors dating from 2011. I loved them because they were easy to put on and take off, but what I most appreciated about them was that the vision/view was perfectly clear glass mirror. Unfortunately, one of them broke. I order this new one. I was totally surprised when I strapped my new mirror on my handgrip, took off for my ride, and found that the vision/view was totally and completely distorted; it reminded me of a "fun house mirror". What happened to Blackburn quality? I would like to send this back to the buyer, and have them send me a new mirror that I can actually see clearly out of. It is important to be able to see what is behind my bike clearly, and this mirror does not allow that! I can't imagine that anyone would want to keep this mirror!

Hassle-free installation without modifying bike.
This mirror takes seconds to fit and to remove, is easily adjustable and vibration free. The quality of the mirror cannot be faulted and it is excellent value for money. For some people it may stick out too far and be a problem when manoevering through tight spaces such as doorways or between queuing traffic but I just remove mine when necessary - better to have excellent rear vision than to see nothing more than your arm in the mirror!

Safety on my Bike
It is not the most robust of mirrors IMO though the price makes it perfect for me. Really great when on country roads, when I see a car approaching, a quick glance in the mirror alerts me... really recommend even for local cycling to the shops.

Good mirrors but only just big enough!
I have tried other mirrors which needed to be glued to stop them from rotating! This one holds its position once you have set it and the Velcro tape is OK if you do it up tight enough. The size is only just big enough which makes setting it to view on the vertical plane a bit tricky and could be a bit bigger, the horizontal plane is wide enough. As the mirrors are flat you can see the vehicle behind much more clearly.I used 150mm handlebar grips which helps to accommodate the space these take up on the grip. The mirror can be carried in your pocket and then attached to the handlebar once on the road.It also makes the bike 7" wider on the offside which seems to make motorists give me a bit more overtaking room.

Easy to fit and adjust and fast to remove.
I have a mountain bike, I use it both on and off road all year round, I had a fixed mirror (right angled) on my bars for about 18 mths until it broke on a fence so I have been looking for a replacement ever since, the other mirror had taken a number of knocks over that time so I would have been happy to buy another, however, I spotted this one and thought I'd try it out, as its easy to remove for off road, I had to removed/adjust the other one with an allen key every now and again, This one fits in seconds with the velcro stap and is actually very secure, you can adjust it by hand by turning a robust plastic dial, its quick to remove for off road use and as its strait the design means its easy to store, it also has a reflector on the reverse side of the mirror, so far a very good item.
