The defrost was out in our old GE fridge and newer models did not fit in our space sell. This fixed the problem and hopefully our fridge will last another 20 years. It was not difficult to install for anyone with some mechanical ability.

This Refrigerator Defrost Heater & Thermostat Kit was just what I needed to repair my 27 year old Kenmore refrigerator. My refrigerator was having problems maintaining proper temperatures. The freezer would only run at about 40F and the fridge would run at 65F. I've run into this problem before with this refrigerator so I knew the problem was probably a non-functioning heating element. When this happens the defroster does not work properly, and ice builds up on the refrigeration coils, which prevents the fridge from being able to hold proper temperatures. The proper temperature for refrigerators is zero F in the freezer and 37F in the fridge. I didn't want to purchase a new refrigerator because they cost $1,400 and higher for a two door model like the one I have. So paid $20.99 for this repair part and installed it in my refrigerator. The problem was solved, the refrigerator now holds zero F in the freezer and 37 F in the fridge. I like that this repair part comes with both the heater elements and a thermostat that are already wired together. If you buy the parts separately you will have to make the connection, and you will probably pay more for the parts. I'm glad that my refrigerator is now running great and I recommend this repair kit.

The price is right - twenty bucks vs up to $140+ from other sources.But it's about an inch too narrow for screw-mounting into the CSX22GRA and the three-prong connector needs to be cut off and the wires spliced into the old unit's wires.But, bottom line, it's cheap and it works.

This product is easy to intall and saved a ton of money by not having to call a repair man.

Upon opening the replacement part, ( 2 months after part was received, since I could not find time to work on my refrigerator), I found the glass casing around the heating elements to be broken. All I ask, is to receive a response, even if the response is not in my favor.
