Long term data storage on the cheap.
I use Blu-ray discs for long-term data storage. The price per gigabyte is comparable to the dual and quad layer discs, so I decided just to buy more single layer instead. Write speeds are not blazing, but it is still faster than a tape drive. Will continue to buy and use for you to come.

Exactly as expected: fast reliable burning Blu-ray Disks
BD Disks burn reliably and quickly almost like burning fast dvd’s. About 20% used so far and no quality issues.

Always great. No "dead" disks.
Can't go wrong with Verbatim. They've improved in quality while other brands have dropped. I've never had a bad disk. I have WRITTEN and CAUSED write errors via bad software, but I've never had a bad disk despite other reviewers saying they've had such. Not me.

The only brand I trust for archiving data
I switch over from a cheaper brand thinking I could save money only to find out most of the cheaper brands discs were duds. I have tried out a few spindles of verbatim discs now, and have had only a few discs that were bad. Overall I will continue to purchase verbatim spindles just because of their more reliable.

All good
I'm arring late to the party. I was on flash drives and external hard drives but wanted a disc backup solution.I have used a 16x that writes well. I have had no recognition issues. You do have to remember the pre formatted disc for GBs gets you only about 23GBs.I used to buy verbatim for floppies and still with this and other media. Highly recommend.

High quality, slow to record, and how shall I say it? Not cheap.....
These are very good quality. I've gotten a couple of stacks since Black Friday, and I really haven't used these BD-R's yet but I've gotten 21 of the BD-XL's to which I have recorded a great deal so far and they are practically perfect, if you don't mind them being slow to record on. The playback quality is excellent....oh, and also, they aren't exactly cheap.
