Excellent Quality, Crisp Lines, Sturdy, Many Uses!
These cookie cutters are wonderful. They are very strong and sturdy, and the letters are very crisp and clear - exactly what I wanted - cookie cutters that really show the letter shape, without having to guess. They also have to stand up to repeated use, since you never make just one cookie, and to getting the dough out cleanly. These do.They are also uniformly sized - all are 2 1/2 inches tall, with width that varies based of course on the letter - Full letters like G, O, Q, W for example, are 2 1/2 inches wide; Z, X, S are 1 3/4 inches wide, U, Y, P, N, T, etc., are not quite 2 inches wide. So this makes for a very uniform clean look, which is what I wanted - sturdy, well-made and well -crafted cookie cutters that I could use for many years, for a variety of uses, not just flimsy ones for use just during nursery school years. For example, I purchased these to make a tray of cookies for my daughter's wedding, in the shapes of the initials of the first names of the couple. Other times I have used letters for an alumni event for my university, or a local team, or anniversary, etc. And of course they are useful for activities with little kids learning to read and write, as well!I am a master baker, I bake cookies of various textures and doughs, and I wanted a cookie cutter that would stand up well. Often cutters are cute, but getting dough out of the corners can be difficult if it is not well made, and gets to a point that it is not worth the effort in something where you are making not one, but many, as you do with cookies. So it was worth it to me to pay a bit more to get better quality. These are made that way - sturdy, easy to use, easy to clean, you get a crisp outline, and very uniformly sized to make for a nice clean look on a tray or decorating a cake or whatever. One final thing - I had smaller alphabet cookie cutters, but they were very time consuming to use, and would only work for certain kinds of dough, or probably better for candy, rather than cookies. These make a good sized cookie - one that is a good size for eating, and for a pretty tray of them.

Worked with cheese
These worked well for a baby shower charcuterie board. Used pre-sliced cheddar cheese sold at grocery store (about 1/4 inch slices). Needed a skewer or toothpick to push/clean out. I was very pleased how well it turned out.

Quite possibly the best cookie cutters!
Quite possibly the best cookie cutters I've ever had aside from my stainless steel ones, and I have a lot of cookie cutters! Very precise, perfect size for a cookie and perfect font. They may not be stainless steel but they are sturdy enough to be. These are built to last. They are so good for my little ones to learn with. I home school and any tools I can use to encourage learning, the better. They are hands-on and of course very rewarding! These are a must-have for anyone with children or knows somebody that does!

Concrete cutters
I bought these and the number set for crafting in concrete. I like the fact that you can punch out the characters needed quickly and in batches without having to wait for them to set, as is the case with silicone molds. However, these produce rather skinny letters and not too thick. The depth is limited by the metal connector sections used inside the cutters on characters such as "O," "D," "B" and the like, where parts of the mold wouldn't otherwise be attached to anything. This renders the effective depth of about a half-inch before the top of the concrete contacts the bottom of the connector.Given that concrete is a bit less forgiving than cookie dough, I'd say these held up reasonably well. A few of the connector pieces detached, which I think may be poor quality soldering. Cleanup was easy enough, although tough to get into some of the tight angles. If you choose to use these for concrete or clay, my advice would be to rinse them immediately after use. I dunked mine in a bowl while working just to keep them damp, but the cement did set a little before I got to cleanup, making the process take longer. My only real complaints are that the characters produced are too skinny and thin, and that these don't really match the number set of the same size from the same manufacturer. The numbers are much wider (and I wish the letters were that way too.) But doing punch cuts is a big time saver over casting in silicone, so if speed is a primary concern then I'd recommend these.

Perfect in every way!! NO stuck dough and TOP quality!
These are my new favorite cutters!! I needed a good alphabet set. All the alphabet cutters I had bought in the past whether they be plastic, metal, or what not were too small. They cut outs weren't right and the dough would get stuck and it was frustrating. I am familiar with R & M and I know they make good, quality products as I have many of their other products so I decided to give these a try. No stuck dough, no hours of frustration trying to figure out how to make these cookies "work." I was actually happy with my letters for once! Great Job R& M!! These are sturdy cookie cutters and I have upwards of 500 or so. These will last forever provided they are taken care of as the instructions say!!

Rusts after first use
Do not buy this product. I was very excited to use these to teach my daughter about letters (and she loved them the first time we used them!). Unfortunately, they rusted after the very first use! Too bad: great concept, decent price (just over $10), but not something I will keep if it rusts after the first use.

Missing a letter
When I went looking to use the "M", I realized it wasn't there and instead, there was a "K" where the "M" should have been. The other "K" is where is should be. I looked to get just the one letter replaced but it would have been too much hassle to do an exchange. At least I can use the "W" as a "M". Apart from the missing letter, it will work for what I do. I'm giving it a 2 stars because I could not contact a person directly through email to ask them about this issue and had to instead just go through the pull down list. And also, because this is not a cheap item and all the letters should have been there. Someone was sleeping on the job when they packed it.
