Build quality is amazing, although RGB will need tweaking to get it to work full
The main feature of this board would be how the aesthetics differ from other competition. With the steel like aesthetics, any setup with this motherboard will pop! Great overclocking ease and capability, design is flawless and the board has enough head space for adding more RAM. Although, as an RGB capable motherboard and being branded as a "Gaming" motherboard, It's controversial that ASROCK would proudly highlight their RGB features. The RGB that came with my board has colour inaccuracy. Looking closer at the heatsink of the motherboard chipset, the colour seems to be off so this meaning that the IO RGB does not match. In addition to this, trying to get the RGB to work properly was a hassle. To get an RGB effect I had to go to the Bios as the RGB software wasn't working properly! After flashing the software a couple of times and updating my BIOS, it was finally working alongside the software ASROCK provided. Apart from that, the motherboard is great and I would recommend it but do be wary of the RGB if that's what you're looking for!!!

A very good motherboard
While there are no problems with the previous series of Ryzen, I do not know about the latest one yet, there will probably be some BIOS upgrade, I hope. The only thing that made me sad about this board was the lack of a heatsink for NVMe drives, but no one promised it either. Made solidly, easy to install, good software for controlling and setting the board and what was important to me, you can actually allocate 2GB of RAM to the graphics card, it is easy to find this function, the system sees it immediately after setting. It works. I am waiting for a new BIOS for the latest Ryzen

Loving my new build!
I based my new Ryzen build around this board, and at the price point I couldn't be happier. It really matches my black & white theme. The RGB options in the UEFI are quite extensive, all my parts work flawlessly. The included manual was clear and helped me plug in all the I/O ports accordingly. Great little B450 board at a very competitive price if you want RGB!

great motherboard
Fantastic mobo . great spec and lighting Updated already to lastest bios 2.90 ryzen 3000 ready Works fine with ADATA XPG Spectrix D41( xmp profile and rgb light works) just 1 issue for now - ASRock Polychrome RGB soft are terrible slow and unstable(shame) Take 90sec ! to start "shows detecting rgb peripherals" every time you start. you cant use pc on that time whole system freeze !!!! i try newest beta ver:2.0.58 (not start at all) Take off 1 star for that issue

Cheap and works well
This is an absolute beast when looking for RGB it adds so much customisation to your builds so it's unique to colours are bright and saturated perfectly so it doesn't hurt your eyes when you star at them. Installation was a bit difficult as it kept moving around in my case and wasn't aligning in my case however once done it looks amazing

Feature rich but poor quality
I replaced an ASUS TUF B450m with this ASrock Steel Legend for the an MATX build... and its a downgrade in many areas. This boards PCB and heatsinks are far more suited to my build aesthetic, and it does feature dual M.2 slots which is an absolute godsend when working in smaller cases. But thats where the good points end. Mixed 12v and 5v RGB headers is unparalleled at this price bracket, but theres some issues here. The RGB software is buggy and crashes more often than not. The firmware for the RGB lighting on the board itself is also trash, doesnt always apply to each LED correctly, sometimes freezes entirely. Its so bad than ASrock provide a specific batchfile to wipe the RGB firmware and re-apply it. Fan controller doesnt like mixing 4pin PWM and 3pin fans; they'll all spin but you cant control them all in the software or BIOS. Worst part of it is its just slow. POST takes an absolute age to finish and the boot-up process getting into Windows 10 is so much slower compared to my previous ASUS board (using the same Samsung 960 Evo). I'd never recommend this board unless you specifically want the colour scheme and dual M.2 slots.

All the features in a small package
A very capable motherboard for the pricepoint compared to other ATX boards and certainly all other mATX boards in my opinion. The RGB is cool but not necessary obviously, despite this it works well and is easy to control. 4 ram slots for an mATX and, quite rare, an aRGB header made this my choice. Recommended.

Win 11 Update
Very nice board. 2 M.2 slots. Excellent. Very colourful - especially with the Wraith Prism cooler (system builders who use water cooling will sell these OEM a bit cheaper). HOWEVER - You will need a graphics card to get it to boot first time - only certain CPU's support onboard graphics. 2 days of my life i won't get back....... Win 11 Update...Yes it has the TPM 2.0 module, but you have to enable Secure Boot. and to do that you have to disable CSM and to do that you have to have GPT and to do that you.....loses will to live.......

Bought this motherboard as a replacement for a old asus a320m-k and I am impressed at the quality and looks for the price. It's definitely worth it. The VRM have large heatsinks and has every essential placed sensibly. Can't say much about it but everything is as expected or better.

I bought this motherboard and a r5 5600x as a replacement for a i7 from 2015 and a mini atx mb. I was a bit worried the mb would not be updated to 3.6 (required for 5000 series) out of the box and that i had to update it with an older gen cpu. This was not the case at all, was 3.6 out of the box. Im glad i bought this mb, it looks good and has great performance.

I use this as a Proxmox server board. Below are the attached components: Memory: 4 x 8GB Corsair LPX 3000MHz C16 XMP RAM (CMK16GX4M2D3000C16) (2667 is the fastest speed I can achieve in this configuration) CPU: Ryzen 2600 (Also tested and working great with 3600) Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO PSU: Corsair SF450 Storage Card: LSI SAS HBA Fujitsu d2607 PCIe NICS: Intel Pro / 1000PT Quad Port PCIe Good Points: *Lots of PWM fan headers - which all have either DC or PWM control. *Extensive fan control options in the UEFI. *2, 16x (Physical, not electrically - also see disappointing points section) PCIe slots and 1x slot. *Support for M.2 MSATA and NVME drives. *Supports IOMMU virtualisation passthrough of the electrical x16 PCIe slot. *Boots fine without a GPU attached. *Controllable RGB board lighting - it can even be turned off. *RAM compatibility with ZEN+ is improved. *Subjectively, I like the IO shield and board appearance. *The UEFI comes ready for Zen2 but also works fine out of the box for Zen+. Disappointing Points: * 1 of the x16 PCIe slots (The lower slot, without a metal shroud) and the x1 slot are routed through the motherboard chipset and not the CPU. For most people this won't matter but if you use this board for virtualisation (Such as Proxmox), you will not be able to passthrough a device in the second x16 slot and the x1 slot to a virtual machine. It's a shame but given the low price, it seems unfair to criticise this motherboard, since I doubt many people will run this board as a virtualisation server. The top x16 slot can be passed through and I use it to passthrough a SAS RAID card to my NAS virtual machine - no problems. *The audio codec isn't the best. Asrock provide superior audio codecs with some of their other boards - but it's not a dealbreaker, IMHO. Bad Points: *Given the low price, there's nothing that I can complain about. For a gaming or work computer, I doubt many people would have any issues and be unhappy. Likely a fringe group of users will have be disappointed with what I list in the 'Disappointing Points' section above - and I therefore don't feel that this warrants less than 5 stars.
