Some fresh interjections on old perspectives, and some refreshingly new! Very Unique text!
This book was very interesting and I would be lieing if I said I didn't buy it largely for the title. I have been a Practicing Magician, of various systems for over a decade. Ever sense reading Levis, "Transcendental Magic" some 8 years ago, Baphomet has always been at the forefront for symbolism and an egregore/diety? which has always grabbed my attention and imagination. This book takes the concept of Baphomet, and applies "hir" (as they use alot in the book) as they believe should be our new image and idea of God, or the Ineffable/Divine if you will. The first chapter we get a sweeping epic of evolution, and the birth of the cosmos, which reads like a verbal discreption of a Stanley Kuprick film, Its very enjoyable. The rest of the book spends its time, talking about other theories, philosphies, and approachs to magic, baphomet in general, ecology, evolution and the state of human beings. Some are great, others not so much. But what you are left with (in my opinon) is a book which is a breath of fresh air to not only the occult world, but also to humanity.Baphomet, is alive and well, and always has been. I would reccomend this book to any Occult practictioner or scholar! The price is a bit, over the top, and I have to admit I almost didn't purchase it. But I have to say, you will be getting a completely unique book, with some wonderful thought provoking pieces. That I have no doubt that will stand out uniquely for years to come!

Nothing new
I appreciate the pantheistic view of Baphomet. But beyond that, I felt the book was really rehashing the same stuff from any modern magical practice or tradition.

This was a really good read; the authors express a deep understanding of the content combined with personal experiences that manage to bring across the relationship they have developed with this powerful force.I enjoyed the combination of factual information, ritual and emotion, all brought across in a clear and accessible way. The tone of the book conveys a deep sense of awe and wonder, capturing and conveying the feel of the entity with a dark and solid earthy richness.

Don't bother
Weak and nonsensicle. Typical of someone making something out of nothing. Wasn't worth the price waste of my time and effort.

Baphomet and Ethneogens
Baphomete, exactly who is Baphomet? Is he another version or icon of the devil or is he a representative of the old horned God from yesteryear. Perhaps auld horney and the devil are one and the same. Most of us are familiar with Baphomet from either his picture on the Satanic Bible cover or perhaps the cover of Eliphas Levis book " Transcendental Magic" the figure is quite androgynous. The head represent a bulls head and the musculature is that of a weight lifter. Yet Baphyhas a nice set of female breasts and down below his waste there is a very erect phallus. The authors would equate Baphomet with being the supreme creator or life force. The books comes from the pen of some Chaos Magicians. I like Chaos magick myself. Yet this work comes off like a spur of the moment acid trip. The authors write that they have used ethneogens to reach a trance state and connect with Baphomet energy. Oft times the authors went into caves to do their trance work. While most of this work was stream of consciousness it did have some strong points as well as some week points. There was a bit of history thrown in , some useful invocations and a little work plan at the end. I wish there was more of it.The book comes off like someone penned this during an acid trip. Great so we get your conceptualization of the universe. Now give me something to work with. Give me some rituals, spells , working etc. where is the beef?

Disappointing
I was looking forward to reading this book. But it disappointed me greatly. It is more about ecology than about Baphomet. If you are looking for hard core information about Baphomet, this is not the book for you. It has a hippie- new age-feel about it, that I don't like. Other reviewers seem to like that, well, I don't!

Excellent work
This is an excellent piece of work that I found both engaging and interesting. More than this, it has stimulated my interest in this most interesting of images.

Chaos Magic at it's absolute best!
This is Chaos Magic at it's best! Chaos Magic has matured and come of age. This book stirs together thorough research, personal insight and anecdote to reward the reader with an exciting and informed read. Both wild and profound a wonderful and brilliant book. In the past I felt that Chaos Magic went a bit too far in deconstructing magic and dissecting it to destruction but this book is one of several which seems to supply depth to this movement. Baphomet shrugs off His sinister reputation and takes on the role as an embodiment of the Biosphere at this critical time in our history.
